    ONLINE LEARNING GUIDELINES

    1. The Aim of Online Learning Period

    a. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the School decided to enact a social distancing

measures, in the form of school closure, with close coordination and following

guidelines from the related governmental agencies. This measure is done between

March 16 - April 3, 2020. On April 3, based on the situation and condition of COVID-

19 pandemic in Indonesia, the School will announce to the parents whether the school

closure is over and students may return to their normal schedule.

    b. In order to provide educational service during this social distancing period, the School

will provide that service through an online platform.

    2. General Guidelines for Online Learning Session

    a. Online learning means education that happens over the internet. It is different with

traditional face to face learning in many ways. Students are encouraged to have more

self-study sessions rather than with teacher guidance. School will try to ensure that all

students will receive a high quality education, even though it is delivered by the means

    of the internet.

    b. Considering the inequality of internet access and/or its quality that exists between

households of our students we try to minimize the load of internet usage by shortening

the face to face lesson sessions, and shift much of the learning activities as independent

student activities. Rest assured, our teachers will always be ready to help and stay in

touch with you and your children, in order to achieve the learning objectives.

    c. We believe that your child(ren) should spend some time online to receive instruction,

connect with teachers, access resources, and upload information, photos or video each

day. Given the age of your child, this can be done with parental/adult support and

    supervision.

    d. The general guidelines for face to face online session will be as followed:

    - One face to face (F2F) online session is 30 minutes.

    - The attendance of the students for each F2F online session will be recorded.

    - The F2F online session is scheduled as follow:

    GRADE 1 GRADE 2 GRADE 3

    09.00 - 09.30 09.30 - 10.00 10.00 - 10.30

    GRADE 4 GRADE 5 GRADE 6

    10.30 - 11.00 11.00 - 11.30 11.30 - 12.00

    - Home/online learning activities and lessons for the next day will be posted at 16.00

on ClassDojo accounts on the day before.

    - If online access is not available or there is no supervision, we support your child

engaging in books and paper/pencil tasks and other activities and experiences that

are part of their daily lessons and can be expanded on by an adult. No child under

the age of 13 should be online without an adult present (parent, guardian, or trusted

    adult).

    - Teachers will communicate with students through ClassDojo. On ClassDojo parents

and students will find a plan for learning across Reading and Writing, Math, Inquiry

Projects as well as the various special classes of Art, Music, PE, and Bahasa

Indonesia. On the ClassDojo platform, you will find all lessons, instruction, and

experiences when you click the Stories icon.

    - Homeroom teachers and subject teachers will have meetings with students in 30

minutes per day on ZOOM platform. Teachers will motivate students and inform

the students about worksheets and assignments to do on the day. All worksheets and

assignments will be uploaded to ClassDojo.

    3. Rules and Regulation for Students

    a. First, this period is not a holiday. Please do not go out if it is not absolutely necessary,

do not go to touristic destinations, and do not go to crowded places. Maintain good

hygiene habits, wash your hands with soap and water frequently, wear a mask if you are

coughing or sneezing, and do not touch your face. If you have a fever for more than 3

days, seek medical help. Keep yourself informed, and follow guidelines from the

    government and/or authority.

    b. Even though it is an online environment, general school rules apply with exceptions and

adjustments that are necessary for an online setting.

    c. Be prepared for your online F2F session, make a checklist of things that need to be

prepared: your device (laptop or tablet or phone); accessories such as headsets; stable

internet connection; and applications/programs needed for the lesson (Zoom, Google

Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Slides). If you cannot procure one of these items, please ask

    your parents.

    d. Start your online F2F session by typing “PRESENT” in the chat box in the zoom app.

Your teacher will confirm your attendance.

    e. Your webcam must always be turned ON during the whole session, and your face must

be easily seen. Do not point the webcam in the other directions except to your face.

    f. You must not leave the session before your teacher closes it. If you really have to leave

due to an emergency situation, get permission from your teacher.

    g. If students are unwell or for any other reason unable to participate in Home/Online

Learning, parents should notify the teacher and school,

    h. Wear appropriate and respectable clothing.

    i. Try to be active in the session, and always respect other people in your interaction

    online.

    j. Do not waste other people’s time with matter unrelated with the lesson. The time

    provided is short and valuable.

    4. Role of the Teachers

    a. The main role of a teacher in online learning is not to be a sage on the stage, but to be a

guide on the side. As a guide, you would advise, assist, and correct the students while

allowing them to explore a subject area independently or by interacting among them.

    b. Teachers prepare the lessons that will be delivered, they must have clear objectives, with

definite plans on how to achieve those objectives. Materials and resources needed for

the lesson delivery must be shared with the students.

    c. Teachers should follow the lesson schedule, s/he must start and conclude the lesson on

    time.

    d. Teachers must record the students attendance and report absent student/s to the class

teacher and Assistant Principal of Academic/School Culture.

    e. Teachers must always give constructive feedback to the students for his/er work, in

order to give the students a better chance to achieve the learning objective and to

    improve.

    f. Teachers make sure that the online environment where the lesson takes place is a safe

and supportive environment. Offensive languages, curses, cyber-bullying are against the

school rule, and will have a consequence.

    5. Role of the Parents

    a. Parents are the most important partners for the School in providing education for our

students. You should help us supervise the learning process.

    b. Parents should provide the necessary equipment (laptop, headset) and environment

(internet connection, noise free room) for online learning.

    c. Whenever a student could not join a F2F online session, parents should inform the class

teacher if the student cannot join an online session. This is important, especially if the

reason is due to sickness. The School will always try to follow up on the information

    given by the parents.

    d. The School will always try to give the support needed for the parents in enacting this

online learning. You may contact the school if you need any assistance.

    Most importantly,

Do not hesitate to contact your child’s Homeroom Teacher if you or your child has

questions or if they need extra help and support. Our faculty will be on hand to help and

    support children who need it.

We appreciate your support and partnership during this challenging time. We know that it

is difficult to recreate school in a different setting and to dedicate time, supervision and support

to your child(ren). We want to ensure that teaching continues in the best possible manner with

the understanding that Home/Online Learning can be challenging for children and parents.

Should you have any questions or thoughts, please do not hesitate to contact the school

    admin.

    Best regards,

    School Administration
