Today we reviewed the concept of conditional probability. We then began learning about Independent and Dependent events, and how to calculate the probability of these events. Key Concepts this week: Overlapping probability: Multiple events happening at one time. P(A OR B) = P(A) + P(B) – P(A and B) if mutually exclusive P(A and B) = 0 Dependent probability: Multiple events happening one after another. P(A AND B) = P(A)*P(B|A) if independent P(B|A)=P(B) Conditional Probability: Probability of a an event occurring with a restriction on the total. P(A|B) = P(A AND B) / P(B) Below are the notes and practice work completed in class today.

Today we reviewed the concept of conditional probability. We then began learning about Independent and

Dependent events, and how to calculate the probability of these events.

Key Concepts this week:

Overlapping probability: Multiple events happening at one time.

P(A OR B) = P(A) + P(B) – P(A and B) if mutually exclusive P(A and B) = 0

Dependent probability: Multiple events happening one after another.

P(A AND B) = P(A)*P(B|A) if independent P(B|A)=P(B)

Conditional Probability: Probability of a an event occurring with a restriction on the total.

P(A|B) = P(A AND B) / P(B)

Below are the notes and practice work completed in class today.
