Electric Utilities can Reduce their Cyber Risk
Within the enterprise, energy suppliers should identify andmapassets and their connections, prioritizing them by degree ofcriticality. Next, utilities should determine whether any criticalassets or networks have well-known vulnerabilities (such asunchanged default passwords) that can be exploited. Then, power companies should assess the maturity of their controlsenvironment for proactively managing threats, before finallybuilding a framework — incorporating people, processes andtechnology — to protect critical assets.
