KELER’S SERVICES FOR THE CAPITAL MARKETS
ISSUER SERVICES
As the sole central securities depository in the Hungarian capital market KELER provides the infrastructure for the issuance of Hungarian securities and for the settlement of securities transactions. In addition to the management of securities accounts for capital market intermediaries, the central securities depository function includes the origination of dematerialized securities in line with strict security requirements and international standards, the issuance of central securities identification codes (ISINs), as well as the our corporate actions offering.
One of the major goals of KELER is to provide electronic, internet-based dematerialized securities management services to Clients. Accordingly, ISIN code requests and dematerialization services can now be ordered electronically, from systems (e-ISIN, e-DEMAT) available through the homepage of KELER.
KELER provides Share Registry, Dividend Payment and General Meeting Management
services to Hungarian issuers of equities. Currently, KELER provides such services to main
issuers, among them many blue chip companies listed on the Budapest Stock Exchange.
KELER’S SERVICES
CUSTODIAN SERVICES
KELER provides Account Management and Safekeeping Service to its Clients and keeps all the dematerialized securities in the consolidated securities account and the physical securities in fungible custody that are available to its Client (by client, by securities type and by securities series). KELER also undertakes the safe custody of physical securities, and based on the assignment of the issuer other tasks related to physical securities (coupon detachment, cancellation, destruction).
CUSTODIAN SERVICES - INTERNATIONALSETTLEMENT
KELER provides cross-border settlement services and corporate action management related to the securities investments of domestic investors abroad (outbound) and foreign investors in Hungary (inbound), through its international accounts. The cooperation between the Budapest Stock Exchange and Deutsche Börse AG, opened up the opportunity for BSE members to acquire membership in Deutsche Börse, with direct access to the XETRA trading system. KELER has established the direct accounts with service providers in Germany, so that KELER can offer direct settlement services for securities transactions concluded on XETRA.
SETTLEMENT
A core function of KELER is to operate the securities settlement system; and to act as an efficient infrastructure of the Hungarian capital and regional market when providing other services allowed by regulations. On the regulated markets KELER provides settlement service for transaction
cleared by KELER CCP such as settlement of stock exchange trades, BSE MTF market trades and transactions concluded in the MTS market. Additionally KELER provide clearing and settlement for cross-border transactions and transactions not guaranteed by KELER CCP.
CASH MANAGEMENT
The cash accounts held by KELER are identical to the ones held by any other commercial banks, with the only limitation of only settlement-related financial transactions can be carried out on them, in which activities and transactions your company can seek assistance from KELER Treasury. Clients’ assets are kept separately from KELER’s assets, which increases the safety of these assets and facilitates Clients’ risk management activity.
TRADE REPOSITORY
KELER participates in the reporting process as a data intermediary, collecting the trading data of market participants that contracted KELER and forwards them to the selected trade repository. Through the Trade Repository KELER and KELER CCP will be able to report to ESMA and ACER all transactions going through KELER CCP. This way the KELER Group will be able to fully support its Clients in their entire activity from trading to complying with their reporting obligation.
WARPWIDE APPLICATION ROUTING PLATFORM
KELER launched WARP the new, integrated platform that directly links the fund manager, the distributor (selling the investment fund units), the custodian (in charge of making sure that the fund operates in line with the regulations and the fund management rules) and KELER that creates/cancels fund units and
settles securities movements. Automation can help decreasing the execution times related to the sale of investment fund units, which result in fund managers can use investments more efficiently; and in the case of redemption investors receive their investments earlier.
