- WORKS AS A COLUMN AND BEAM STRUCTURE
- ALLOW FOR MORE PRECISION IN CONSTRUCTION
- EASY AND QUICK INSTALLATION TIME AND REDUCED LABOR COST
- REDUCED JOBSITE WASTER
- LITTLE CONSTRUCTION SKILLS NEEDED TO INSTALL
- R VALUE FOR 6 1/2" THICK PANEL: R-21
- CRANES MIGHT BE REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION
- CAREFULL PROJECT PLANNING AND SUFFICIENT LEAD TIME IS REQUIRED
- ON-SITE CHANGES OR DAMAGES MAY OCCUR AND WILL INCREASE TIME OF CONSTRUCTION
- GLUE FAILURE CAN CAUSE DELAMINATION AND STRUCTURAL FAILURE
- OSB CAN BE DAMAGED IF NOT PROPERLY DONE WITH FINISHES

sustainable and affordable housing My senior class, decided we wanted to do more with helping the Pine Ridge Reservation after our project and visit there. Collaboration between my classmates and my instructor we came up with a game plan. The concept we came up with for the home was Shift and we made each letter of that word fit with our goals. There is 5 students in the senior class; therefore we each had a goal that we had to design a poster for. The 5 goals included, Sustainability, affordability (Holistic), accesibility (Inclusive), constructability (Feasible), and flexibility (Transform). The goal that I was given was constructability (Feasible). After doing research about different construction types, I came up with that SIPs were the best way to go for our design. On my poster, I wanted to show how the panels were put together, the advantages/ disadvantages of them, the sequence of the construction and the closest places to Pine Ridge(star on map) that had distributed (black) or manufactured (purple) the panels.
