“IN PERFECT UNISON” October 2018
Kalbar Kalbar is a lovely small town located in the Fassifern Valley and part of the Scenic Rim.
There are a number of shops in the town as well as the local pub, bakery and butcher.
A short drive away is Boonah, a thriving town with many shops and other facilities. On our visit to Boonah we went to the local High School for an Orchid Show - some of these flowers are quite exquisite of colour and texture.
Kalbar had their Country Markets on the Saturday and most of us visited them and purchased some of their home made goodies plus other items. Sunday saw a Swap Meet on the oval.
We welcomed first time visitors - David & Allison (friends of Bill & Sue Clark) to this rally.
A great weekend was had by all.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT - Kalbar Rally
Kalbar Showground is always a popular venue especially when the Country
Day & the Swap Meet is on. The Showground was at capacity with 2 other Caravan Clubs as well as many independent travellers there for the big weekend
By Wednesday evening 12 vans had arrived. A very good roll up for a Wednesday, then by Friday afternoon we had a total of 17 vans - 16 Members vans & 1 visitors
van. We welcomed David & Allison to our Rally & hope they will return soon.
The weather was kind to us with only a few showers on a couple of days. Friday, Saturday & Sunday the weather was good but warming up as summer is here. Friday saw a large group visit the Boonah coffee shops & of course the popular Maynard’s store for clothes & shoes.
The Local Hotel did it again on Friday night by serving delicious & piping hot meals very promptly.
Fay and the ladies of her catering committee worked for most of Saturday preparing the evening meal and gathering flowers to decorate the tables for the Saturday night meal which was delicious. Sincere thanks to Fay and her team for their efforts.
Thanks must go to Sarah & Albert for providing entertainment for us over the weekend. Also thanks to Kevan for the music he provided until his computer had a hic up. Thankfully Don came to the rescue thanks Don.
On Sunday morning some of our members departed for Bundaberg to attend the State Rally. Some members had already departed for Bundaberg so did not come to Kalbar. We had 12 vans make the journey from Kalbar. Unfortunately Lyndell & Brian had to cancel their trip due to problems at home.
The November Rally is at Maleny 14th to 19th and also our quarterly general meeting. If you have any items you want on the agenda please let Juliet know ASAP so she can get the agenda out 1 week prior to the meeting.
News flash > I have just heard from Bundaberg that Barry Sawtell & Ian Aland are the new State Disc Bowls Champions
See you all at Maleny

BUNDABERG STATE RALLY - 22nd to 27th October 2018
Delegates report on the Open Forum held at the 41 st State Rally in Bundaberg 26th Oct @ 1 pm attendance 39 plus.
Secretary opened the meeting by reading the minutes & the agenda .
Alf talked about his involvement in Toowoomba but nothing to report.
Slight discussion on making the delegate meeting every 3 months with a motion being put but if a constitutional change is required it’s not going to happen. Going to CCQ Committee.
Mark reported Facebook was up & running.
Editor Barry Roberts asked for articles for the Bulletin– like where the clubs go & what they do.
Slight discussion on 2020 State Rally with the possibility of holding it in Toowoomba while the Carnival of flowers is on, failing that Pittsworth will be considered. Clubs will be required to assist.
Meeting closed 1–40 pm.
As with most meetings a healthy discussion carried on after the meeting.

Fay has sent us the following report on the State Rally together with photos -
If I was going to give the State Rally a name I would call it the friendly rally. Everyone was there to have a good time and that they did. There was plenty to keep us entertained and the Jabirus joined in with enthusiasm. Bill Raymond did an excellent job co-ordinating the seminars, which were all well received.
The highlight of course was the disc bowls, which of course Barry and Ian won. There were 58 teams so it was no mean feat. The rest of the club cheered them on from the sidelines calling out ‘Yabba Yabba Yabba, Jabba Jabba Jabba.’ It was a very close match – the score being 7 to 6 after 10 ends.
We had two teams of 6 in the trivia. Neither team came first but we didn’t come last either.
Most of us went together on a river cruise and we all went to the Brothers Sports Club for dinner on the Tuesday night. Our Saturday night farewell dinner was catered for by Meals on Wheels which tickled us. They had almost 400 meals to serve so it took some time.
On the Saturday morning everyone helped with the club stall with great enthusiasm. We took $804 on the stall and a very generous contribution from Mal of a gas bottle barbecue, which he presented beautifully, made $275. Thank you so much Mal.
