  • Teachers & Students Kaizena is fully integrated with your Google account

    Profile creation in a few clicks

    o Note: You will be required to sign into your Google account to install Kaizena if not already signed in.

    Two important things occur after profile creation:

    o Your Kaizena personal website URL and dashboard are created

    o The Kaizena Google Drive plugin is installed

    Add bio

    Designate role

    Teacher, Student, Other

    Add school name

    Add grades

    Add subject taught

    To access the dashboard go to kaizena.com

    If you are already signed into your Google account, the main dashboard will open by default

  • Give FeedbackBOXES, RESOURCES, TAGS

  • Give Feedback: Boxes

    Displays documents requiring feedback

    New boxes can be created for organization feedback

    o You can create a box for each class, group, or assignment, etc.

    Boxes can be archived

    o Archived boxes can be viewed in the Archive view

    o Archived boxes are not available for students to submit requests into

    o Students can still access their feedback if a box is archived

  • Give Feedback: Resources

    Problem: you find yourself always saying the same thing over and over again.

    Solution: save any link you find on the web, and quickly attach it to a highlight without having to remember the link.

    You can direct students to any lesson, video or game on the web

  • Give Feedback: Tags

    Track and rate skills as you see them

    o Tags can be anything : rubric criteria, common core standards, learning objectives, outcomes you get the idea!

    The first time you type a tag we save it for future use

    Every tag gets a rating you can change the tags rating levels to match, say, your rubric levels

    You can also use tags to save feedback

    Click Ask ____ for Feedback

    Select the document

  • How it Works Just like an inbox, new

    feedback requests appear in the box they were placed into

    Access full list of requests by click box header

    From the list view, the teacher can:

    move feedback request(s) to another box

    delete a feedback request(s)

    open a feedback request in Kaizena edit mode

  • Tags Highlight a piece of text by clicking and dragging

    Add a tag (criteria, skill) or skip

  • Tags Give your tag a rating. For example, align the rating with a rubric criteria

  • Tags Summary When you tag and rate

    highlights, we automatically create a summary in the sidebar.

    If you've used the same tag (ie. "transition") multiple times in the document with different ratings, the tag in the summary is the average of those ratings

  • Adding Feedback Now you can provide your feedback in 3 different ways :

    Mic: Allows you to record audio feedback

    Text: Allows you write text feedback

    Resource: Allows you to provide feedback via an external link

    Click the microphone icon

    Give microphone access to Kaizena

    Click record

    Start talking

    Click stop

    Click the text icon

    Enter your text feedback

    Click comment

    Click the resource icon

    Enter the name of your resource

    Copy and paste the URL of the resource

    Click attach resource

  • Versions Create a new version to

    pull the latest changes from Google Docs into Kaizena.

    Click on the timestamps to switch between versions, and the trash can to delete old versions

    Change highlight colour

    Delete highlight

    Add new feedback for this highlight

  • Submitting Feedback A link to your feedback is automatically added to the original Google Doc under the comments button (which is next to the blue share button) after you make a comment

    If your students asked you for your feedback via your Kaizena profile, they will also receive an email with a link to your feedback
