From Fabric B, cut:nine 2-1/2” x WOF strips. Subcut: two 2-1/2” x 24-1/2” top/bottom Border 1 pieces two 2-1/2” x 40-1/2” side Border 1 pieces two 2-1/2” x 30-1/2” top/bottom Border 3 pieces Sew the remaining three strips together, end-to-end, then trim: two 2-1/2” x 46-1/2” side Border 3 piecesfive 1-1/2” x WOF strips. From Fabric G, cut:three 1-1/2” x WOF strips. Trim to: eighteen 1-1/2” x 3-1/2” piece 5 units for Log Cabin Block B eighteen 1-1/2” x 2-1/2” piece 4 units for Log Cabin Block B

From Fabric H, cut:five 1-1/2” x WOF strips. Trim to: eighteen 1-1/2” x 5-1/2” piece 9 units for Log Cabin Block B eighteen 1-1/2” x 4-1/2” piece 8 units for Log Cabin Block B

From the Binding Fabric, cut:seven 2-1/2” x WOF strips

Step 1: Gather:one each of pieces 1-9 for Block A

Step 2: Sew Piece 1 (the Fabric D square) to the bottom of Piece 2 (the Fabric B square). Press toward the darker fabric.

Step 3: Sew Piece 3 (1-1/2” x 2-1/2” Fabric B) to the right edge of the unit. Press toward the darker fabric.

Step 4: Sew Piece 4 (1-1/2” x 2-1/2” Fabric E) to the bottom edge of the unit. Press toward the darker fabric.

Assemble the Log Cabin A Blocks

Step 5: Sew Piece 5 (1-1/2” x 3-1/2” Fabric E) to the left edge of the unit. Press toward the darker fabric.

Step 6: Sew Piece 6 (1-1/2” x 3-1/2” Fabric B) to the top edge of the unit. Press toward the darker fabric.

Step 7: Sew Piece 7 (1-1/2” x 4-1/2” Fabric B) to the right edge of the unit. Press toward the darker fabric.

Step 8: Sew Piece 8 (1-1/2” x 4-1/2” Fabric C) to the bottom edge of the unit. Press toward the darker fabric.

Step 9: Sew Piece 9 (1-1/2” x 5-1/2” Fabric C) to the left edge of the unit. Press toward the darker fabric.

The block should measure 5-1/2” square. Repeat Steps 1-9 to make eighteen A Blocks.

Step 12: Sew the side Border 1 strips to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the top and bottom Border 1 strips to the quilt center. Press toward the borders.

Step 13: Sew the side Border 2 strips to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the top and bottom Border 2 strips to the quilt center. Press toward the borders.

Step 14: Sew the side Border 3 strips to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the top and bottom Border 3 strips to the quilt center. Press toward the borders.

Step 10: Gather:one each of pieces 1-9 for Block B

Step 11: Using the same process described in Steps 1-9, sew each piece together in order to form the B Block, referring to the fabric placement shown in the Block Assembly Diagram.

The block should measure 5-1/2” square. Repeat Steps 10-11 to make eighteen B Blocks.

Step 15: Gather five A Blocks and five B Blocks. Sew together to form a column, alternating Blocks A and B and noting the fabric placement and block orientation shown in the Quilt Assembly Diagram. Sew to the left edge of the quilt center. Press. Repeat to make a second column and sew to the right edge of the quilt center.

Step 16: Gather four A Blocks and four B Blocks. Sew together to form a row, alternating Blocks A and B and noting the fabric placement and block orientation shown in the Quilt Assembly Diagram. Sew to the top edge of the quilt center. Press. Repeat to make a second row and sew to the bottom edge of the quilt center.

Step 17: Sew the side Border 4 strips to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the top and bottom Border 4 strips to the quilt center. Press toward the borders.

Step 18: Sew the side Border 5 strips to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the top and bottom Border 5 strips to the quilt center. Press toward the borders.

Your quilt top is complete! Baste, quilt, bind and enjoy!
