Every time I am asked to pray, I thinkof the old fellow who always prayed,

'Lord, prop us up on our leanin' side.'

After hearing him pray that prayer

many times, someone asked him

why he prayed that prayer so fer-

vently He answered, 'Well sir, you

see, it's like this... I got an

old barn out back.  It's been there a

long time; it's withstood a lot of

weather; it's gone through a lot of

storms, and it's stood for many

years. It's still standing. But one day I

noticed it was leaning to one side a

bit. So I went and got some pine

poles and propped it up on

its leaning side so it wouldn'tfall. Then I got to thinking about that

and how much I was like that old

barn. I've been around a long

time. I've withstood a lot of life's

storms. I've withstood a lot of

bad weather in life, I've withstood a

lot of hard times, and I'm still stand-

ing too. But I find myself leaning to

one side from time to time, so I like

to ask the Lord to prop us up on our

leaning side, 'cause I figure a lot of

us get to leaning at times. Sometimes we get to leaning

toward anger, leaning to-

ward bitterness, leaning toward ha-

tred, leaning toward cussing, leaning

toward a lot of things that we should-

n't. So we need to pray, 'Lord, prop

us up on our leanin' side, so we will

stand straight and tall again to glorify

the Lord.'' Received & Copied from Internet, author

A couple of things to which we want to draw

aenon is noted on the calendar. First is the

“Shepherd’s Pie.” This will be an opportunity for our shep-

herds to visit with a few families at a me. This will be asocial seng on the fourth Sundays of the month at 4:00.

Refreshments will be served but we just want some me

to spend with you. Starng this month, June, we will be

sending our invitaons and we want you to feel relaxed.  Secondly, is on the eleventh. We will be giving

away garage sale items on the church’s parking lot. This

will be an outreach eort to do good for our community.

Start brining your items that you want to give away on

Wednesday the eighth, to the foyer and on Friday evening

we will set everything up. Now here is a extra goodie. On

Friday night members get rst perusal of all the free

items. Again, remember there will NO selling of these

goods.

Our aendance has been uctuang here lately. I

want to encourage you to be present at all services. It issuch an blessing when all of God’s family comes together

for Bible study and worship.

Happy Father’s Day We want to wish our father’s a

Happy Father’s Day. The man of God

that supports his family tirelessly and

sets forth the example of a faithful

Christian husband is one whom is due

high praise. I Timothy 5:8 Our earthly

dads are the ones that sets forth a ba-sis of understanding the attributes of

God. Many men do not draw attention

to themselves and seldom take time or

money for self indulgences, but these

are the very ones that deserve our

recognition.

Take some time this month to

let your dads know how much you ap-

preciate them for all they have done

for you. When you are through with

your dads, remember to thank Your

heavenly Father for all He has done.
