Last weekend we re-opened for Masses and confessions. Let me tell you how it worked.

Confessions went well. Father Roth and I heard confessions from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. It worked well. Just a reminder that we are hearing confessions in front of the school, under the main entryway to the school and at the door by the cafeteria near the ramp. Starting this week, we will be hearing confessions from 5:00 to 5:30 pm on Wednesdays and from 3:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturdays.

Masses star ted back well too. We had good crowds at our outdoor Masses at our new school on Sand Hill Road—175 people on Saturday evening and 200 on Sunday. Masses at the church in the morning were more sparse—75, 65, and 45 at the 7:30 am, 9:30 am, and 11:30 am Masses. I am glad that people are being cautious—and wise—in returning to Mass. If you have any health condition, please wait before you come back to Mass. It is the best decision for you and for all concerned.

Daily Masses star ted on Monday and we got a nice crowd each day. Until we get the livestreaming set up and working well in the church, we will continue to livestream Mass from the Saint Lucy Chapel. I hope many of you will continue to participate at Mass in this way. It is a nice way to start your day!

We will have Food Trucks after Masses on Sand Hill starting this weekend. This week we will have Sorrento’s Food Truck. They will be serving pizza and subs. Come to Mass, have a bite to eat, use the playground with the kids. A nice way to come together as a parish family!

Here is a picture of the Mass last Saturday night (from Father Roth):

An update on the St. Joan of Arc Sand Hill School:

Renovations on the first floor are winding down. Flooring in the multipurpose room is complete and the lobbies are being finished. We are waiting on some door frames. On the second floor, kitchen walls have been installed and will be finished with stainless steel and

composite paneling. Lights and ceiling grid have been installed in the administration offices. Flooring, windows and doors are next in the queue. Some of the classrooms on the north wing have been expanded to accommodate larger class sizes.

June is already flying by. We are hopeful to start relocating some of the lower grades to the first floor by month’s end.

A special thanks to those who have given over and above their original pledge. St Joan of Arc Parish is grateful to all of its generous parishioners. Thank you as well to those whose on-going support of their pledges help sustain our efforts. Budget permitting, pledge payments generally allow for an increased gift and easier payments extended over time. This has been a very successful for the Centennial Project and we invite you to participate if you are able.

We greatly appreciate every and all contributions made to our parish, especially in times of financial strife. We appreciate your continued dedication to our parish.

V O C A T I O N S C O R N E R Those who feed on the Bread of Life shall live forever. How is your spirit nourished by the body and blood of Christ? Eucharist is at the heart of our Christian faith. Come to the table!

Try Online Giving! With our churches in the Diocese being closed to the public, we know that it makes it harder for parishioners to give their tithes and offerings each week. For those who are able to continue to give to the church during this hard time that has fallen upon us, we are working on finding ways to make your giving easier. Have you ever considered donating online? We can help you set up your account or even manage it for you! Online giving is a secure and easy way to tithe and make other contributions. You can set up automatic payments that will occur periodically so you don’t have to worry about remembering when to give. It works just like online banking with 24/7 access to your account. ROAD TO KINDNESS This week we want to share with you some wonderful inspirational videos on, yes – you guessed it, kindness! In our world today, we all need to share the virtue of kindness. We have many challenges; however, one thing stands above them all – “if you give a little love, you get a little love right back!” God sees all that happens - he sees when we are kind to one another, and we do not expect anything in return. How you treat people, is who you are! Sometimes we just need to take time and watch some videos on kindness to inspire us to be kind! Go to YouTube and search for “videos on kindness.” You will see the array of videos that will come up pertaining to being kind. Watch these videos as a family or with your friends! A few that have touched us are: be kind; video that will change your life; and how you treat people is who you are. Ask yourself this question - who will you be kind to today? There are no coincidences as we travel through life. God puts people in our life and we always should show our kindness – this is what it means to be following “God’s Way – The Road to Kindness!” God bless you!
