Jump Start Day 2
JAMES RUTTER MIDDLE SCHOOL 2020-2021
During day 2 you will notice a lot of activities we do during a typical day at James Rutter Middle School
before distant learning, but we remain optimistic that things will return soon.
Technology Use
● Students may use chromebooks at home for Distance Learning.
● Internet search history and google documents are subject to search. Make sure all content is school appropriate.
● Students may not access websites unless pre-approved by the school.
When we return to school our technology equipment use is taken very serious.

Synergy Access
● Students have access to their homework assignments and grades on Synergy.
● Parents/guardians also have access to their students´assignments and grades through Parent Vue, as well as the ability to email staff members.
● Parents/guardians can obtain the access code from a front office staff member; they must show adequate identification.
Being Tardy
• To be early means to be ON TIME.
• To be on time is to be LATE.
• To be late is UNACCEPTABLE.

Every 2nd Tuesday
•Bring your parent to lunch.•Parents can bring a special lunch and hang out with you.•Your parent receives a goodie bag for attending.

Advisory Wednesday
•Every Wednesday we will have advisory in your first period class.
•During advisory we will have character building lessons.
•School gets out at 2:05 on Wednesdays.
Wednesday Advisory
When we return to school this is what a typical Wednesday look like here at James
Rutter Middle School.
•Wear college gear (T-shirt, sweatshirt, hat, lanyard, sweatpants, etc.) on Wednesday and
go to the front of the speed line for lunch!

Student Senate 1st Thursday
• Your first period class will select a student to attend Student Senate every first Thursday of the month in room J-38.
• The student Senate representative will take notes about upcoming Rutter activities and events as well as help make decisions about future events.
• The representative is responsible for making up any missed work.
A typical first Thursday of the month would look like this.
Spirit Friday
• Show your school spirit and wear your James Rutter Swag!• PE clothes do not count• Get front of the line access to the speed lunch line if you
are showing your school spirit
• Friday Cheer!• At the end of the morning announcements, the entire
campus will participate in the Rutter Cheer:

PBIS Incentives
• When you are showing the 3Rs: Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient, a staff member may reward you with a Roadrunner Buck!
• You can "buy" school supplies from the discipline office or redeem the Bucks for other teacher prizes and school events (ticket to a sports game, dance ticket, etc.).
• When you have shown EXCEPTIONAL Roadrunner 3Rs, you may receive the laminated 3R card, which teachers only give out to ONE student a month! You can choose one of the listed rewards on the cards and keep it as a souvenir after you’ve redeemed your reward.
• If you have five Roadrunner bucks, you may redeem one EXCEPTIONAL Roadrunner 3Rs.
