Dance Ravinia Hustle is an authentic American partner dance born and cultivated here in the United States inthe 1970’s. Through the years, it has evolved into its current form, usually referred to as New YorkHustle or 3-count Hustle. Any music that has a solid steady beat can be used for this excitingpartner dance. Hustle is an easy dance that can be danced fast or moderately slow. Join full-time,independent dance instructor Pat Korn on Thursday evenings:
Beginner classes at 6:30 PM - 7:15 PM. Intermediate classes at 7:15 PM- 8:15 PM.Intermediate dancers are encouraged to stay and practice until 8:45 PM.
Cost for each class is $12. With approval from the instructor, students can take both classes for $20.

Ravinia Charity ChampionsEvery fight needs a good team, and the fight against cancer is no exception. Join us for theLIVESTRONG Challenge and pick a fight with cancer. The LIVESTRONG Challenge is theLance Armstrong Foundation's signature fundraising event inspired by the hope, courage anddetermination that exist in all of us. For the 2008 LIVESTRONG Challenge, the Ravinia CharityChampions has recruited nine team members and hopes to recruit a total of 25 to participate inthe LIVESTRONG Challenge Austin on October 25th-26th. Team members can choose to walk,run, or ride in the event.
In addition, the Ravinia Charity Champions hope to raise $250,000 to support cancer prevention,provide access to screening and care, fund research, and enhance the quality of life for cancersurvivors everywhere. Whether you choose to join the team or support the cause through yourparticipation in our Member Bartender/Auction on August 21 or our Charity Lunch and FashionShow by Brooks Brothers on September 4, everyone’s participation is one more powerful weaponin the crucial fight against cancer.

Member Bartenders for Charity continue on Thursdays from 5:30 – 8:00 pmthroughout the summer months. Participate in one of Ravinia Club’s most popularevents and help raise money for worthwhile charities. Members select the Charityof their choice, and a portion of the proceeds from the bar sales are donated to thatcharity. In addition, all proceeds from silent and live auctions go to the charity. Acash bar is set up, and guests are welcome.
July 17Steve Newfield and Scott Smith will be hosts for the evening, and JimTiernan will entertain at the piano. Proceeds from the evening will benefitthe Alzheimer’s Association, the leading voluntary health organization inAlzheimer care, support and research. Their mission is to eliminateAlzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide andenhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk ofdementia through the promotion of brain health.
August 7Hosted by Chitra Subbarayan, this Member Bartender will benefit OrphanConcern International. Orphan Concern International is a globaloutreach with the mission to help children who have lost parents to theAIDS epidemic in third world countries. Basic medical services, food,water, clothing, shelter and primary education are provided for thesechildren through this mission.
August 14Kathy & Fred Brandt join Anne & Clark Glenn in hosting. Proceeds fromthe evening will benefit the Dunwoody Rotary Charitable Fund and itswork in literacy and education through numerous programs in area DeKalbCounty schools. Fashion jewelry from Jewelry Artisans will be on display forpurchase to benefit the fund.
August 21Benefiting the Armstrong Foundation and the LIVESTRONGChallenge, Jim Manley and Ravinia Charity Champions will be theevening’s hosts. The Armstrong Foundation unites people throughprograms and experiences and empowers cancer survivors to live life ontheir own terms. It also raises awareness and funds for the fight againstcancer. Michael Abdalla will be the auctioneer for the night’s Live Auction.

Make Ravinia Club’s Family Night a 2008 Family tradition! Bring the childrenand grandchildren to enjoy Chef Eric’s family-friendly buffet and Paul Wagner’ssimple athletic competitions. The tradition continues every Friday evening! Join us in the RotisserieLounge for an endless array of food and Club brand drinks from 5:30-7:30pm. A great way to begin the weekend with friends, coworkers and fellowMembers! Only $10 for Members and $15 for Guests, all-inclusive. ($15for Members and $20 for Guests on Super TGIF evenings.)
Please note: Children are welcome in the Rotisserie Dining Room whendining with adults. As a courtesy to other members, please keep in mindthat children under 12 years of age are not permitted in the RotisserieLounge after 5:00 pm per the rules of the Club.

Trivia returns! Every first Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm, trivia will beplayed in the Rotisserie Bar. Enjoy $3 Cocktails and Chef Eric’s Lounge
Menu with a Trivia Night Feature. Each team will be limited to fourplayers. Three rounds will be played, and a drink ticket will be given to
each member of the winning team.
