creativity and collaboration, according to expert panelists at therecent “Future of Work” webinar presented by Apollo ResearchInstitute. Open floor plans and public-space workplaces—whichreplace traditional offices and cubes—are new hotbeds ofinnovation, say the industry leaders and future forecasters whoconvened for the event.“Smart technology and other machines have taken on many

tasks, freeing up human beings to use their core strengths ofhigher-level intelligence, innovation and creativity,” said panelmoderator Dr. Tracey Wilen-Daugenti, vice president andmanaging director of Apollo Research Institute. “But optimizinghuman intelligence requires looking at how and where we work,how workers connect to one another and how we collaborateto solve problems.” For example, entrepreneurial companies such as Facebook

focus less on a hierarchical chain of command and more onindividual responsibility and self-motivation. (NAPS)—Energy efficient lighting has become a top priority for homeownerslooking for simple ways to save energy. Many homeowners, however, have foundthat switching from incandescent bulbs to energy efficient LEDs or CFLs meansnot being able to use their dimmer to create the same ambience as before.Most dimmers in homes today are designed exclusively for incandescent lighting.

Juicy Recipes Get Grill Season Off To A Sizzling Start

Whenyou grill, it’s important to follow the guidelines from theUSDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service to prevent harmfulbacteria from multiplying and causing food poisoning: • When shopping, buy cold food such as meat and poultrylast, right before checkout. Separate raw meat and poultryfrom other food in your shopping cart and put packages ofraw meat and poultry into plastic bags. • Plan to go home right from the store. Consider taking acooler with ice for perishables. Always refrigerate perishablefood within two hours—within one hour when thetemperature is above 90° F. • At home, place meat and poultry in the refrigeratorimmediately. Freeze poultry and ground meat that won’t beused in a day or two. • Completely thaw meat and poultry before grilling so itcooks evenly. Use the refrigerator for slow, safe thawing. Forquicker thawing, you can defrost in the microwave or in coldwater if the food will be placed immediately on the grill. • A marinade is a savory, acidic sauce in which a food issoaked to enrich its flavor or to tenderize it. Beef, veal, porkand lamb roasts, chops and steaks may be marinated up to fivedays. If some of the marinade is to be used as a sauce on thecooked food, reserve a portion before putting raw meat and
