Forewords 前言

When some students asked me about their future, I would say, “Your future depends on what you do today. Don’t waste your time or time will waste you.” Besides, people are influencing each other in their journey of life. Those who have ever helped us or encouraged us by patting on our shoulders during our growth, have also taken a part in making who we are today.

The objective of Deloitte “Pass the Torch” Programme is very simple, which is to connect each student with one more friend who offers care and support, a mentor who provides guidance and inspiration. The care and support allow us to maintain a positive attitude towards life with great passion.

I wish all graduates from the Programme will pass on this positive energy to more people.

有些同學問我他們的前途會怎樣，我告訴他們: 「你的將來取決於你今天所做的；如你今天浪費時間，你的未來也被蠶食。」再者，沒人能完全不被身邊的人影響。在我們成長的過程中，每一個曾幫助我們、或曾拍拍我們肩膀鼓勵我們的人，都造就了我們成為怎樣的人。

德勤關愛相傳計劃的目的很簡單：就是希望每一個年輕人可以得到多一位朋友的關心和支持；多一位導師在他們的成長路上引導他們，並激勵他們思考。這份關懷和支持，使我們積極的態度和對生命的熱忱得以繼續燃燒。

我希望關愛相傳計劃的畢業生，能將這份正能量傳給更多的人。

"Knowledge can change one's destiny." Knowledge undoubtedly can enable students in the Tin Shui Wai area to take control of their lives and strive for breakthrough.

Deloitte “Pass the Torch” Programme takes students out of the classroom, broadens their learning experience and gives them the opportunity to meet and learn from professionals of the business world.

The Programme has won an Outstanding Partnership Project Award 2013/14 from the Caring Company Scheme. The award is of exceptional meaning for our graduates because it entails society's recognition of the achievements of the Programme. I encourage the graduates to continue widening their horizons and taking charge of their future.

On behalf of our staff and students, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Deloitte mentors for their dedication and for working with us to nurture the young generation.

「知識改變命運」對於天水圍的學生無疑是一個突破生活固有框框的方法。除了學校學習外，「德勤關愛相傳計劃」讓學生從課室跳至金鐘，放眼真實的商業世界，並從專業人士的工作經驗得到啟發。

適逢今年「德勤關愛相傳計劃」勇奪由「商界展關懷」頒發之「傑出伙伴合作計劃大獎」殊榮，讓第三屆的「德勤關愛相傳計劃」畢業典禮別具意義。此項計劃的成就得到全港的認同及讚許，期望本校的莘莘學子，繼續積極參與，擴闊眼界。

Deloitte “Pass the Torch” Programme

Youth is the future pillar of the society. High school students are facing various challenges in their growth journey and making critical decisions on education and career choices.

Launched in 2009, in partnership with Buddhist Mau Fung Memorial College and the Professional Training Centre of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong, Deloitte “Pass the Torch” Programme supports youth in remote communities in Hong Kong through mentorship and learning experiences outside the classroom.

Students are matched with Deloitte professionals who volunteer as mentors. They then embark on a three-year learning journey, from F.4 to F.6, while the mentors would guide and support their mentees to grow and encourage them to develop positive values. The Programme also aims to equip the younger generation with certain major skills in life, such as interpersonal communications, teamwork, leadership and sense of social responsibility. More importantly, it carries the vision to help these underprivileged teenagers to develop self-confidence and establish life goals, as well as to inspire them with hopes and ambitions for the future.

今日的年輕人是明天的棟樑，高中生處於升學和就業的十字路口，面對成長的各種挑戰。

德勤關愛相傳計劃是德勤與天水圍佛教茂峰法師紀念中學及香港信義會專業培訓中心於2009年始創，向偏遠社區的中學生提供師友輔導及課堂以外的學習機會。

德勤義工擔任學生的導師，從中四到中六，陪伴他們成長，鼓勵他們建立正確的價值觀；學習成長所需的知識，如人際關係、團體協作、領導才能和社會責任；協助資源較遜的青少年建立自信和人生目標，啟發他們對前景的希望和抱負。

Though we‘ve known each other for three years only, I can always feel the warmth my mentor, Eric, brings along. Outstanding Partnership Project Award 傑出伙伴合作計劃獎

Deloitte “Pass the Torch” Student Mentoring Programme was presented the Outstanding Partnership Project Award 2013/14 under the Caring Company Scheme, run by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service.

The Programme was selected as one of the Top 3 awardees from 35 applications, in recognition of its strong demonstration of meeting community needs, active employee participation and strong partnership with NGO partners, as well as the Programme's objective to assist youth in Hong Kong.

德勤香港關愛相傳師友輔導計劃榮獲由香港社會服務聯會頒發的「商界展關懷」計劃2013/14年度傑出夥伴合作計劃獎。

About Buddhist Mau Fung Memorial CollegeIn September 1998, Buddhist Mau Fung Memorial College became the 13th secondary school founded by Hong Kong Buddhist Association, serving as a government-aided grammar school. The Association named the School after the 1st Chief Monk of East Putuo Temple, Master Mau Fung, as a memorial for his great virtue.
