NATINAMDS - Future

JPOW Main Goalsand Objectives

Exercise, Explore, Assess and Demonstrate all aspects of IAMD

Explore and exercise the integration, coordination and interoperability of existing and future C2 systems

Exercise, Assess, Refine and Validate existing and emerging Doctrines, Tactics, TTPs, CONOPs and Plans

Train and assess operational IAMD forces in a realistic deployed hardware-in-the-loop environment

Serve as a platform to experiment with current & future systems and concepts

Support participants with developmental activities and objectives

JPOW

• Concept Development and Experimentation

• Experiment & train with current/future capabilities

• Full documentation, recording and analysis of execution phase

• CFBL/DIS enables remote and distributed participation

• Realistic Environment

• Sole opportunity to test and train NATINAMDS

• Tactical - Operational – Strategic level

Experiments

• 3 Phases with time jumps

• Hardware and software in the loop

– Fully simulated models

– Dynamic models

– Live Weapon systems and operators

• Scripted scenario, adaptation possible

• Joint Analysis Team:

– Execution documented and analyzed: JAT

JPOW

Execution Phase

JPOW17 First Impressions

• Challenges

– CIS effort underestimated, manpower, equipment, build-up time

– Participation ACO/ACT

– Manning: availability and experience

– Network

• simulation systems settings incompatible with DIS

• design changes unannounced (and not tested)

– Enhanced and tightened security regulations (infosec)

JPOW

JPOW17 First Impressions

• Successes

– “Dual BMDOC”

• NATO BMD and IAMD mission executed in integrated C2 structure

– TA realised the majority of objectives

– Remote participation of systems and simulators

– “Pink CFBL”

• Filters to allow non-NATO players on CFBL-net
