Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile Lockheed Martin is an American global aerospace, defense, security, and advanced technology company with worldwide interests. Lockheed Martin is one of the world's largest defense contractors, operating in five business segments: Aeronautics, Information Systems & Global Solutions, Missile and Fire Control, Mission Systems and Training, and Space Systems. Lockheed Martin’s Orlando office noticed a problem with their joint air-to-surface missile covers. Their current covers were allowing in moisture and causing misfires, thus posing a potential threat to national security. Lockheed Martin contacted First State Manufacturing for help. After closely studying the current models, FSM took the designs back to the drawing board and developed a water- tight cover for the missiles, thus safeguarding against any harmful condensation or leakage. Additionally, the new covers FSM designed could be quickly and easily applied or removed in a matter of seconds - far more quickly than the previous model. In the end, Lockheed received everything they needed…and then some.
