PT. Pama Persada Nusantara (PAMA) was established in 1993. Before became a mining contractor company, at the first, the company was heavy equipment rental division of PT. United Tractors which active as heavy equipment distributor with some famous brands likes Komatsu and Nissan. The majority of PT. United Tractor's shares owned by PT. Astra Internasional, one of the prominent and the biggest automotive company in Indonesia.

As a contractor company, Pama is acknowledged as pioneer of Mining Contract in Indonesia. There is no doubt of their experiences at this field. They grew with Indonesia's mining industry and having skills and comprehensive services for their clients and business partners.

As a mining contractor, Pama always focus at their main business are open cut gold, coal mining, hard rock

quarries, increasing marketing skills and market share. Otherwise, it keeps on improving the competency in engineering, operation management, heavy equipment repairing and safety. Not only that, Pama keeps on up-grading their heavy equipments to increase production and output efficiency.

Pama grew quickly becoming the biggest mining contractor in Indonesia with 42% of Total Income came from mining contract in 2000. Nowadays, Pama mainly is operated in coal mining, gold mining, dam construction and some others earthmoving projects.

Coal mining gave the biggest contribution for Pama business with 102 millions bank cubic meter of excavated overburden and 23 millions of coal and transportation in 2000.

Until 2000, Pama had been having more than 1,200 of heavy equipment which came from various brands and employed about 4,500 qualified employees. Since 1995, Pama has began to use special product : Volvo Articulated Dump Truck which a at every mining operation they did. First serial is A35 in Tanjung Enim Project (South Sumatra). Until last year (2001), Pama had been using about 130 Volvo ADT at various locations with various jobs. The last serial which used by Pama is Volvo A40D.

As a leading mining contractor Pama often handled hard condition jobs in remote areas throughout Indonesia. They also have comprehensive experiences such as : feasibility study, pre-production, developing and construction for mining production at general. Pama has also ever handled overseas mining, is coal mining contract in North Vietnam.

Pama's big clients are Adaro, Indomuro and Indominco. Some project which is

handled by them are : Quarry in Bintan Island (Riau) and Batu Licin in South Kalimantan, coal mining in Ombilin (West Sumatra), Tanjung Enim (South Sumatra), Bontang and Samarinda (East Kalimantan), gold mining in Muara Teweh (Central Kalimantan) and rock fill dam in Batutegi (Lampung) and Wonorejo (East Java).
