Director's Notes "These sing and these dance to make us merry while we work:'

-The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes DuBose Heyward (Houghton Mifflin)

What makes us tolerate the vagaries of the giltterati of the world? What makes us follaw their exploits in the supermarket tabloids with such enthusiasm? Their star quality makes them stand apart. VVe watch these stars with devotion. We appreciate the beauty and joy they bring to our lives.

In the radio days, people fell in love with voices, and thrilled to the laughter and new events brought into our homes. Our play is full of the names of the great figures of the mid-century. Have fun guessing the identity of the guest stars. We celebrate trivia as the centerpiece of our play!

-Charles Sutherland

Aside from her onstage work for AACT, Wendy is very busy behind the scenes, serving on the Board as Vice President of Artistic Coordination and working in the business office as the Temporary Office Manager. She is also looking forward to directing the next Mainstage show of the season: BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS.

JUDY RIPPLE (Assistant Director) has also been an active member of After since 1988 (hmmm, is there a connection. . ) Since becoming involved, she has participated as a crew member for several productions, with props and set painting being her favorite areas. At present, she is the AACf Librarian and a member of the Play Selection Committee. In her free time, Judy is an avid collector of classical, film, and stage music, as vvell as a dealer/collector of antique postcards.

THE SCHWARTZES (Producers) have produced numerous plays for AACT, including ARSENIC AND OLD LACE and PLAZA SUITE. Tvventy + years of membership have also seen the Schwartzes in lights, sound, props, sets, and many other AACf support positions. Chris was Board President and both have served on the new building planning committees. Bill is currently part of the Computer Committee and both Schwartzes are assisting in office functions. In their spare time, they are both members of the Dexter Community Band and have played several years in the Ann Arbor Concert Band.
