Transfer to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Earn your bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and complete requirements for your Elementary Education Initial Teacher License and Moderate Disabilities Preliminary License.

Journey into Education and Teaching (JET) is a
teacher preparation program specifically designed for
Massachusetts paraprofessionals.
JET will help you to earn your:
• Associate’s degree
• Bachelor’s degree
• Massachusetts Teacher Licenses
Elementary Education K-6
Moderate Disabilities K-8
COHORT LEARNING MODEL: You will enroll in courses
with other paraprofessionals and work together to
earn your academic degrees and teacher licenses.
Your cohort will provide you with critical academic
and emotional support and help you to build a
collaborative community of educators.
After JET, start your teaching career by working in a high-need elementary school in Fall River or New Bedford (3 year requirement).
Eligibility
To enroll in JET, you must be a highly-qualified
paraprofessional employed in a Massachusetts public
school, and not yet hold a bachelor’s degree.
