Thirteen Interior Design students hosted a design Charrette with the Denton Community Members, UNT ID Students, and ID Faculty members.

Each pair of students were grouped with community members of a particular service and interviewed to determine the clients needs and wants for each space.

From the design charrette the 13 students were able to create the Serve Denton Facilties design based off of the community feed-back.

child careThe new childcare facility is designed around safety and comfort. The size constraints of the facility are maximized by organizing the space by age and noise level with infants and toddlers each having designated spaces while older visitors are welcomed to enjoy the art or media areas. A secure entry close to the front desk, along with adjacency to a kitchen and restrooms, mindfully addresses the safety and comfort of both parents and children.

A family of five who love sharing moments and creating memories with friends and family. The parents, Stephen and Cara, both in their early 40s, would like an open floor concept home to accommodate for the largeness of their family and friends when invited over. The kitchen needs to be large enough to fit Cara’s large family come Sunday dinner, for it is the place where most days are normally spent.Stephen and Cara need a home big enough for their three kids, the twins, Chris (19) and Harry (19), and the only daughter, Gemma (17). Stephen and Cara want the twin boys to no longer need to share a room and Gemma have a room her-self – keeping them separate from the parents room, but allowing easy access to them just incase of emer-gencies. The family enjoys spending time with one another on a big cozy couch in the living room, but they also enjoy their own personal alone time.
