College Corner: FAFSA Application Assistance Night February 9, 2017 Freedom HS Library 6:30-9:00PM

Applying for federal student aid to help with college costs? Senior students and their parents are invited to

attend this workshop to receive assistance on filling out and properly completing their FAFSA application from

Northern Virginia Community College Financial Aid Officers as well as Counselors from both John Champe HS

and Freedom HS. We recommend for students and parents to first sign up for an FSA ID prior to attending this

2017-2018 Course Selection: January 24, 2017

Rising 9th Grade Course Information Night, 6:30pm Do you have a rising freshman? Please join us and find out what freshman year at JCHS will be like, get information about graduation requirements, course placement and course sequencing. There will be a presentation in the auditorium beginning at 6:30pm to be followed by an elective fair in the cafeteria at 7:15pm.

AP Information Sessions, 6:30pm Do you have a child considering AP courses next year? Please join these valuable discussions and learn about the curriculum, assessments and time involved in AP courses. Breakout sessions for all AP courses offered at JCHS will take place. Afterwards join us for Curriculum Night where we will discuss - time management, AP potential, teacher recommendation process, and college placement.

Current Student Curriculum Night, 7:30pm Please join us to get updated information about graduation requirements, preparing for college, course placement and course sequencing. There will be a presentation in the auditorium beginning at 7:30pm to be followed by an elective fair in the cafeteria at 8:15pm. We strongly encourage everyone to attend as this program will answer many questions families have about which courses to select for the following year.

Elective Fair, 7:15pm Do you know what classes you should take next year? Do you know what you will be learning in those classes? Students are encouraged to make educated decisions about their courses for next year as schedule changes are not permitted past June 16.
