BIG CHANGES in 2019
The Board of Directors unanimously voted not to have the January, February
and March concerts this year. During these three months many of our members
go south and our attendance does not justify our time, effort and financial re-
sponsibilities. We also always have the concern of bad weather that would fur-
ther hurt attendance. Having to cancel a band as we did in November due to the
snow storm presents another problem. Our concerts next year will start in April
and we have great bands booked for seven months which you will find listed in this publication.
ANOTHER CHANGE
The Regalia Hotel and Conference Center will not be our new home next year as we published in our
November Jazz Notes. Unfortunately after negotiations, we decided not to pursue this venue for
2019.
GOOD NEWS
We do have a contract signed for a great new venue….The Ozark Yacht Club will be our new home
and we are elated with their venue, the Anchor Room. It has a built in stage that will work for some
of our concerts and they are going to add sections for us when we have the larger groups. The room
is beautifully decorated, has no posts or obstructions, so there won’t be a bad seat in the house. The
room has a built-in bar and has wood flooring ideal for a dance area. You can drive right up to the
entrance, with no steps, and be within ten feet of entering the venue. Parking area is black topped and
if you have to park at the far end of the lot, they will pick you up in a golf cart and bring you to the
door if necerssary. We will have a $15.00 buffet and Linda will be taking your reservations by
phone as we have done in the past. Your monthly Jazz Notes will give you the menu and all the
details. I can’t tell you how much we appreciate the cooperation and help we are receiving from
Linda and the rest of her crew. They will also be promoting our events to their Yacht Club members
and the rental units adjoining the marina. We are really looking forward to a great year in 2019 for
our Ozark Jazz Society.
VERY IMPORTANT
Please be sure that we have your correct email address and phone number so we can notify you in
emergencies as when we had to cancel our November event. We will also keep you informed of any
happenings during the winter months. Please give updated information changes to Kathy Chinn by
email: [email protected] or phone 573-280-7175.
ALSO IMPORTANT
Please keep your memberships up to date, especially during the winter months, when many of you
would be paying at the concerts. Your dues should be sent to

We are all looking forward to a fantastic and a blessed year in
2019. We wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a
healthy, happy New Year.
