It takes up three chapters (5-7) andis a masterpiece of religious and ethical teaching. Matthew shows Jesus as a newMoses, preaching from a mountain and bringing to his people the Beatitudes, which

are the New Testament parallel of the Ten Commandments.This year we hear this Gospel reading of Year A at the start of Catholic SchoolsCatholic SchoolsCatholic SchoolsCatholic SchoolsWeek,Week,Week,Week, the annual celebration of the importance of Catholic Schools in the life ofthe Church. Saint Charles Borromeo church is unique in the Diocese because it is at the heart oa campus which encompasses three Catholic Schools: Bishop Moore Catholic HighSchool, Saint Charles pre-K to 8, and Morning Star School.
