Civil engineers will Design and Supervise in construction of Roads, Buildings, Airports, Tunnels, Dams and Bridges, Water supply and Sewage systems. The Civil Engineers' positions range from supervisory to administrative job, from Site engineer to Project managers, from design and analysis to construction works. The major specialisations within civil engineering are Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water resources Engineering, Construction Technology, Transportation Engineering and Management, Infrastructure Engineering Management, Geo-technical engineering, Remote Sensing and GIS, Highway Technology, Computer Aided Design of structures. The objective of the B.E graduate program in Civil Engineering is to give the undergraduates great comprehension of civil engineering arrangements in a global, societal and ecological setting, steady with the standards of sustainable improvement. The course will make the undergraduates capable Identifying, planning and taking care of civil engineering problems that meet indicated execution, cost, time, well being and other quality needs and objectives with proficient and moral responsibility. Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

PSO 1 – To apply science, mathematics and mechanics to

solve problems in engineering realm .

PSO 2 – To analyze the techniques, skills and modern

engineering tools necessary for engineering practices.

PSO 3 – To develop ability to function as a leader and a team

player in multidisciplinary teams.

PSO 4 – To recognize of the need for and an ability to engage

in research and life-long learning for developing sustainable

construction practices.

PSO 5 – To design and conduct experiments as well as to

analyze and interpret data .

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) PEO 1- Engaged in professional practices, such as

construction, environmental, geotechnical, structural,

transportation, water resource engineering by using technical,

communication and management skills.

PEO 2- Engaged in higher studies and research activities in

various civil engineering fields and life time commitment to

learn ever changing technologies to satisfy increasing demand

of sustainable infrastructural facilities.

PEO 3- Serve in a leadership position in any professional or

community organization or local or state engineering board.

PEO 4- Registered as professional engineer or developed a

strong ability leading to professional licensure being an

entrepreneur.

One day State level “SYMPOSIUM”

Department of Civil Engineering of ATMECE in association with

Karnataka Science and Technology Academy, Govt of Karnataka

organized one day State level Symposium on “Recent

developments in science, engineering and technology” held

on10/10/2017. It was coordinated by Dr. K J Suresha, Asst.Prof,

Mrs Jyothi D N, Asst.Prof & Mr Manoj K J, Asst.Prof. The

resource persons was Padmashree Dr. S. K. Shivakumar, Former

ISRO Director and present KSTA Chairman, Guest of honour,
