If you have never received envelopes in the past and would like to have them this year, please call the parish office. Use of the offertory envelope system makes our record keeping much easier.

REMINDER ABOUT SECOND COLLECTIONS Please remember that when there is a second collection, only the envelopes for the announced special collection should be put in the second collection basket. All other envelopes, offertory, insurance, building maintenance, utilities, fuel, candlemas, Easter flowers, etc., go in the first collection taken up. All checks for the second collection should be made out to St. Brigid Parish.

PARISH LOTTERY CALENDARS Parish Lottery Calendars are available in the back of the Churches. Calendars are $ 20.00 each. They run from April 1st thru December 31st, 2015. Each family in our Parish is asked to take at least (5) calendars to sell. There are both packages of (5) calendars and loose (single) calendars available. (Please do not break up the packages.) You are asked to please sign the calendars out on the sign out sheet provided. Please help to make this very important fund raiser a success again this year!

ALL YOU CAN EAT BREAKFAST

The Little Meadows Fire Company will hold an all you can eat breakfast NEXT Sunday, January 18th, from 7AM to 11AM, at Whitetails Bar, Little Meadows. Price is $8.00 adult $4.00 children. Benefits the Little Meadows Fire Company. Breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage gravy with biscuits, home fries, baked goods, and beverages. All are invited to attend and enjoy a delicious breakfast

FREE FOOD DISTRIBUTION VIA THE WEINBERG FOOD BANK

This free food distribution for those in need is for RESIDENTS OF SUSQUEHANNA COUNT ONLY. Any resident of Susquehanna County who needs food is welcome. Distribution will be held TUESDAY, JANUARY 20TH, from 12Noon to 2:00PM, and 5-7PM at the Little Meadows United Methodist Church.

This free food distribution for those in need is for RESIDENTS OF SUSQUEHANNA COUNT ONLY. Any resident of Susquehanna County who needs food is welcome. Distribution will be held TUESDAY, JANUARY 20TH, from 12Noon to 2:00PM, and 5-7PM at the Little Meadows United Methodist Church.

DIOCESAN ANNUAL APPEAL UPDATE Thank you to those who have made the commitment to join in “Transforming Lives Together.” If you did not already make a pledge, envelopes are available in the back of the Churches for your pledge. Completed pledges may be placed in the collection basket or mailed to the Rectory. St. Brigid Parish Appeal goal is $ 24,000.00. Currently we have (118) pledges for a total of $ 19,124.00. WEEK OF PRAY FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY The Diocese of Scranton will again participate in the worldwide Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, which is celebrated each year in January. This observance, first organized by Father Paul Watson, S.A., in 1908 at Graymoor in Garrison, N.Y., seeks to gather together diverse communities of the Christian faith to express the degree of communion which the churches have already received, and to pray together for the full visible unity of the one Church of Jesus Christ. The Diocese of Scranton will host an Ecumenical Celebration of God's Word on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 12:10PM in the Cathedral of Saint Peter, Scranton. There will be no 12:10PM Mass that day in the Cathedral. All are welcome to attend. In addition, CTV: Catholic Television will broadcast the service live. The Most Reverend Joseph C. Bambera, D.D., J.C.L., Bishop of Scranton, will preside, and the Reverend William W. Fairchild of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will deliver the homily. Clergy and representatives from various Christian traditions and ecumenical agencies will be present. Liturgical music will be provided by the Junior Choir from Our Lady of Peace School in Clarks Green.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MASS AND CELEBRATION His Excellency, the Most Reverend Joseph C. Bambera, D.D., J.C.L., Bishop of Scranton, and the Office for Parish Life wish to invite couples celebrating their 25th or 50th wedding anniversary in 2015 to a Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass on Sunday, June 21st. The event includes a 2:30PM Mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral followed by a reception. Requests for an invitation, with a mailing address, should be made thru the Parish Office before March 16th. PREPARATION FOR FIRST ANNUAL CATHOLIC MEN’S CONFERENCE The First Annual Catholic Men’s Conference for the Diocese of Scranton will be held on Saturday, April 25th, at King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, PA. In recent years, many dioceses throughout the country have begun to sponsor such conferences to address the unique and often challenging issues facing men in our culture and in our world. The event will feature two nationally known speakers: Father Larry Richards, author of Be A Man and Damon Owens of the Theology of the Body Institute. There will be opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration, the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation as well as devotional prayers. Additionally, exhibitors will be present with a full array of Catholic books and publications as well as CDs and ministry opportunities. 2015 SUMMER MISSION EXPERIENCE FOR HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS This year’s Summer Mission trip will be to Sacred Heart Southern Missions in Walls, Mississippi, a Catholic Ministry in Northern Mississippi, Diocese of Jackson. The date will be July 6-18. This is a faith basked mission journey. The cost is approximately $ 1200.00 which includes airfare, ground transportation and other living expenses. If you are selected for this mission experience, there are ways to raise the money. If you are a student in your JUNIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL—from Catholic schools, public high schools, or home schools, you are eligible to apply. Also, teachers or mission moderators interested in being a chaperone should apply. Applications are in the back of the Churches.
