    Others

    Purple/greenrolling horizontal barsandbuzzing noise from the TVspeakerswithComponentcable connection.

    Remove the leftandright audio connectionsfrom the set-top-box. Ifthe buzzing stops, thisindicatesthat the set-top-boxhasa grounding issue. Replace the Componentvideo cableswithan HDMIconnection.

    The picture will notdisplay infull screen. y HD channelswill have blackbarson eitherside ofthe screenwhen displaying upscaled SD (4:3) contents.

    y Blackbars onthe Top& Bottom will be shownon moviesthat have aspectratiosdifferent from yourTV.

    Securing the TV to the Wall

    Caution: Pulling, pushing, orclimbing onto the TVmay causethe TVto fall.     To preventthe TVfrom falling

    Since the necessary clamps, screws, andstring are not supplied,please purchase these additionally.

    1. Drive the screwsinto the clampsandfirmly fasten them onto the wall.Make sure the screwsare firmly fixedinto the wall.

    2. Remove the screwsfrom the backcenter ofthe TV, putthe screwsinto the clamps, andthen fastenthe screwsonto the TVagain.

    3. Connectthe clampsfixedonto the TVandthe clampsfixed onto thewall witha strong cable andthen tie the string tightly.

    Verify all connectionsare properly secured. Periodically checktheconnectionsforany signof fatigue orfailure. Ifyou have any doubtaboutthe security ofyour connections, contacta professionalinstaller.

    Install the TVclose to the wall so thatit doesnot fall. Itis safe to connectthe string so thatthe clampsfixed onthe wall

    Firstmake sure you Sleep Timerisnot accidentally set. The sleeptimerallows youthe comfortoffalling asleepwiththe TVstill onbut, turnsit offafter a certainperiodof time so asnot to waste energy.

    Trouble Powering On Before Turnon checkred light onthe right orleft bottom ofyourTV. Press poweronbuttononTV or remote and itwill blinkabout 5 times before turningon.

    Ifyou findthat youare having trouble powering onyourSamsung television, there are a numberofthingsto check beforemaking a call to the service department.

    y Ifyou happento be using the TVasa monitorand the stand-by lightonly blinksfora few secondswhenyoupress thepowerbutton, yourPC isinsleep mode. To take yourPC outofsleep mode, pressa key onyour keyboardor move themouse. Thentry turning yourTV on.

    Ifyoure sure yourpower cord, remote control, andPC are functioning properly, youmay be having a cable issue. Ifyouhavea cable orsatellite box, yourTV may appearto be offbecause the cable orsatellite box isnot outputting a signal. To testthesignal outputofyourca ble orsatellite box, pressthe guide orinfo buttononthe cable orsatellite boxremote control. Ifthescreendisplays the guide orinfo data, the problem iscaused by the box.

    Poorpicture First, perform the Picture Test andto see ifyour TVis properly displaying the testimage.

    Go to MENU - Support - SelfDiagnosis- Picture Test

    Ifthe test image isproperly displayed, the poorpicture may be causedby the source orsignal.

    The TVimage does notlook asgood asitdidin the store.

    Ifyou have ananalog cable/satellite box, upgrade to a digital settopbox. Use HDMIor Componentcables to deliverHD (highdefinition) picture quality.

    Cable/Satellite subscribers: Try HD channelsfrom the channel line up.

    Air/Cable Antenna connection: Try HD channelsafter performing Auto program.

    Many HD channelsare upscaledfrom SD(Standard Definition) contents.y Adjustthe Cable/Set topbox video outputresolutionto 1080i or 720p.

    The picture isdistorted: macroblock error,small block, dots, pixelization.

    y Compressionofvideo contentsmay cause picture distortion, especially onfast moving picturessuch assports andactionmovies.

    y Aweak signal cancause picture distortion. Thisis nota TV problem.

    y Mobile phonesusedclose to the TV(within 3.3ft) may cause noise inthe picture onanalog anddigital channels.

    Coloriswrong ormissing. Ifyoure using a componentconnection, make sure the componentcablesare connectedto the correctjacks. Incorrectorloose connectionsmay cause colorproblemsor a blankscreen.

    There ispoor coloror brightness. y Adjustthe Picture optionsin the TVmenu. (Go to Picture Mode /Color/ Brightness /Sharpness)

    y Adjustthe Energy Saving optionin the TVmenu. (Go toMENU - Setup- EcoSolution- Energy Saving)

    y Try resetting the picture to view the defaultpicture setting. (Go toMENU - Picture -Picture Reset)

    There isa dotted line onthe edge ofthescreen.

    y Ifthe picture size isset to ScreenFit, change itto 16:9.

    y Change the cable/satellite boxresolution.
