At the begining it was really a challenging task for me to take the presidency of a well reputed club in Sri Lanka. It got too harder when the District Presi-dent for my year was also from my own club. How-ever with the experiences we have gained working as one family of UoM Leos I could keep trust on my members.

Planning & conducting various kinds of projects while giving our maxi-mum contribution to A2 family as well as to the multiple was not really an easy task. Meanwhile as university students we had to balance our academic lives with all the extra curricular activities. Any way the full credit should go to all the awesome members I had in my team. As I think we as a club had the best backup team for a district. Exceptional skills of our members has become an asset to gain many benefits and recognition to the district as well as to the multiple.

At the end of the day all the hard work and dedication was paid off by becoming ‘The Most Outstanding Leo Club’ of Leo District 306 A2 with more than 50 awards. When I look back as a president I can be proud of our achievements in the last year and hope you also would have enjoyed our work.

Finally I would like to invite you all to have a tour among the pages in this special year end edition of ‘IT’S US’ which will bring you who UoM Leos are.

Beach is a wonderful scenery which attracts tourists’ eyes. So keeping it clean make benefits to the county. Although there are bins, people are not used to discharge unwanted things into them. There are plastic bottles, polythene bags everywhere.

We felt proud to have the opportunity to organ-ize this kind of service project because many peo-ple who observed what we did complimented us saying “Guys you are doing a fantastic job”.

Have you ever sat on the grass watch-ing at the starry heaven in a night?

Have you ever seen the gorgeous look of the moon with white clouds, among the stars?

Once I was looking at the moon in a beautiful night. I felt how small I am in this large, unlimited universe. I could not even think about the dis-tance in between me and the moon. But one day in 1969, a person stepped on that large, beautiful moon. Because of that step his name was written in golden letters in the history of the mankind. He started his journey and the great distance

between the moon and the earth became nothing to him. However Neil Armstrong was also a man with red blood as we have. What did he have more, additional to us?

Yes. It was the COURAGE.

“Start your work. You will end half of your work” People say this because if someone has the courage to start, he won’t give up later, without achieving his success. It is needed a small first action to complete a big work. It is needed a first step to have a long journey. If you can start you will carry out.

Think a bit. You may have many dreams about the life. Have you start-ed your works to make those dreams come true?

Avoid the fear and uncertainty. Make the first step towards your goals with courage. The earth will welcome you. The blue sky will make a shelter for you. The blowing wind will pray for you. Through a long, successful jour-ney you will find the happiness, as well as you will be able to do a great service for the mankind.

So, Let’s make the first step..
