ITINERARY
Day 1: Tashkurghan to Sost (Khunjerab Pass and Hunza Valley)
Arrival at Pak-China Border (Khunjerab Pass – highest paved-road border in the world)
Reach Pak-China border and get stunned by the natural environment and witness snow on a lucky day
View wildlife habitats for ibex, snow leopards etc
Spot marmots during the drive
Exit Khunjerab National Park in Deh
Continue to the town of Sost (in public transport/hired vehicle) from Tashkurgan (China) SERVICES START HERE
Welcome and pick-up by our registered tour guide after custom and immigration at Sost Customs Office. All vehicles from China arrive here.
Drive to Pasu village for rest.
Cross through Wildlife Conservation Area in Khyber
Pass along Batura lake (snout of the world’s 7th longest glacier) view points
View of Passu Catheral/Cones (above 6,000m)
Check-in at hotel
Sightseeing/walk in the evening depending on the time of arrival.
Night Stay in Passu (Hotel =Sarai Silk Route Hotel or Equivalent), Altitude = 2,500m) Day 2: Karakoram Highway and Hunza Valley
Drive to Karimabad (capital of Hunza Valley) in the morning.

Day 4: Gilgit and Phander Valley
Drive to Phander Valley in Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan
Morning drive to Gilgit
Rest at Rakaposhi view point

Early lunch in Gilgit after sightseeing in Bazaar. Continue journey to Phandar valley

Day 5: Shandur Pass (3700m) and Chitral Valley
Drive to Mastuj
Short stop at Langar valley for photographs
Arrival at Shandur lake and Polo ground (highest polo ground in the world – famous for Shandur
Polo Festival)
There will be no matches during our dates. Shandur Polo Festival is one of the wildest polo
festival played in the world. The polo ground at Shandur is located amidst Ghizer district of
Gilgit-Baltistan in the North West and Chitral District. It is a common shared pass between these
regions. Shandur is a flat plateau and is also a border between the province of KPK and Gilgit-
Baltistan. The first time polo was played at Shandur Polo ground in 1936. Ever since it has
become the greatest polo ground of entire North Region. The polo ground is approximately 155
kms away from the Chitral Town and about 200 kms from Gilgit City.
Continue journey towards Mastuj village of Chitral via Laspur
Night stay in Mastuj (Hotel = PTDC Mastuj or Equivalent, Altitude = 2,360m)
Day 6: Chitral Valley
Drive to Chitral city
Visit Chitral’s famous polo ground (and watch polo match on a lucky day)
Walk along Chitral’s Fort towards river view for tea
Free time in Chitral for shopping, relaxing
Night stay in Chitral or (Hotel = Tirichmir Hotel or Equivalent, Altitude = 2,360m)

Day 7: Kalash Valley
We will start our journey towards Bumburet Valley of Kalash. We will walk through the passages
and see the Kalasha settlement in Bumburet Valley.
Our guests with a local tour guide will experience the Kalasha culture
Night Stays in Chitral town (Hotel = Tirichmir Hotel or Equivalent, Altitude = 2,360m)
Activities on these days can include:
Sightseeing of the breathtaking valley
Visit Kalash graveyards
Walk through the valley along the river
Visit the school, library and museum made with the help of the people of Greece. Get a chance
to meet and interact with community members, teachers and local kids in their traditional
dresses.
Visit Justerkhan (Community center of the Kalasha tribe)
Day 8: Islamabad
Departure for Islamabad early in the morning
Pass along Chitral’s different towns (Nagar, Drosh, Ayun)
Cross the famous Lowari Top or Lawari Tunnel (incase the pass is closed)
Drive through the green valleys of Dir
Pass through Dargai, Batkhela, Takhtabhai, Mardan
Night stay in Islamabad, capital of Pakistan (Hotel = Chateau Royal or Equivalent, Altitude =
1,530m)
Day 9: Fly Out from Pakistan

Holiday Information HOTELS We arrange stays at 2-3 star standard hotels/guest-houses for foreigners in Islamabad and our hotel picks in Passu, Karimabad, Phandar, Mastuj, Chitral are always one of the cleanest in town. Rooms at our selected hotels will be provided on twin-sharing basis and will have en-suite amenities. However you can get separate hotel rooms and separate tents for additional cost but both require booking in advance and extra cost. Our hotels are very basic but clean.
