Although these Parts may be obtained separately, it should be recognised that the Parts are inter‐dependant. As such the manufacture of metallic industrial piping requires the application of all therelevantPartsinorderfortherequirementsoftheStandardtobesatisfactorilyfulfilled.This European Standard will be maintained by a Maintenance MHD working group whose scope ofworkingislimitedtocorrectionsandinterpretationsrelatedtoEN13480.

5.2 Requirementsonfabricatorsandinstallersofpipingandsupports
5.2.1 The fabricators and/or installers shall ensure the correct transport, handling, storage,fabrication,installationandtestingofallpipingcomponentsincludingsupports.5.2.2 The fabricators and installers shallhave access to facilitieswhichenable them tohandle thepipingcomponentsincludingsupportscorrectlyandtocarryouttherequiredtests.5.2.3 The fabricators and/or installers shall employ their own responsible supervisors andcompetent personnel. If sub‐contractors are employed, the fabricator and/or installer remainresponsiblefortheircompetenceandthecompliancewiththisEuropeanStandard.NOTE Thetaskandresponsibilitiesofaweldingco‐ordinatoraredescribedinENISO14731.5.2.4 Allstagesof fabricationand installationshallbesupervised insuchawayas tomaintain thedesignintegrityofthefinishedsystem.5.2.5 Co‐ordination between those responsible for design and those responsible for fabricationand/orinstallationandtestingshallbemaintainedatall times,toensurethatfabrication, installationandtestingiscarriedoutinaccordancewiththedesignspecification.5.2.6 Thefabricatorand/orinstallerofthepipingshallfulfiltherequirementsofENISO3834‐3.5.3 Requirementsforfabricationandinstallation
5.3.1 Prior to any operation, a check shall be made to ensure that the spools and componentssuppliedareinaccordancewiththerelevantdocuments(specifications,drawings,certificatesetc.).5.3.2 Prefabricated spools and components shall be protected during handling, transport, andstorage.5.3.3 Whenjoiningspoolsorcomponents,theyshallnotbestrainednordeformedotherthanasmayberequiredbythedesign.Designer'sinstallationinstructions,ifany,shallbeobserved.NOTE 5.3.3isdeemedtobefulfilled,whenthequalitycharacteristicsofthematerialarenotimpairedbycoldor hot forming, e.g. by cutting, grinding, straightening or bending, of the components and when the differentcomponentshavebeenjoinedsuchthatstressesanddeformationswhichcanimpairthesafetyofthepipingareexcluded.5.3.4 Any temporary supportsor restraintsusedasanaidduring transport, installationor testingshallberemovedpriortocommissioning.5.3.5 Appropriatemeasures shall be taken to avoid corrosion‐inducing contamination of stainlesssteel and non‐ferrous materials. If contamination occurs, it shall be properly removed as soon aspracticable,notwithstandinganyfinaltreatment.NOTE RecommendedmethodsforthepreventionandremovalofcontaminationonstainlesssteelaregiveninAnnexA.5.3.6 Pipingforfluidswhicharelikelytocausecondensationshallbeinstalledwithadequateslopesandtraps.

5.4 Classificationofpiping
Thepipingsystemsshallbeclassifiedintodifferentcategoriesdependingonthefluidcarried,diameterandpressure.ThesearegiveninEN13480‐1.5.5 Materialgrouping
MaterialgroupingisgiveninEN13480‐2.5.6 Tolerances
Tolerances shall comply with ENISO13920, classC and class G, except where other classes arespecifiedinthisEuropeanStandardorbydesign.Angular tolerances for fabricatedpipeworkshall bedeterminedby thedimensional tolerance for theterminalpointsofthefinishedpart.Alternativetolerancesforfabricationandinstallationofpipeworkshallbedeterminedandinallcasestheseshallbeidentifiedinthespecification.DimensionaltolerancesforfabricatedspoolsshallcomplywithAnnexB.6 Cuttingandbevelling
6.1 General
Cuttingandbevellingbymachiningshallbepermittedforallmaterials.Flamecuttingshallbepermittedformaterialgroups1,2,3,4and5onlywithpreheatingasspecifiedforwelding.NOTE Flamecutting formaterialgroups1and2canbeused forbevelling, if therequiredbevel formsandtolerancescanbeachievedandtheheataffectedzonehasnodetrimentaleffectsonthequalityoftheweld.Formaterialgroups3,4and5,theheataffectedzoneshallberemovedbymachiningorgrinding.Plasma cutting shall be permitted for all material groups given in this European Standard. Plasmacuttingshallbeprecededbypreheating,asspecifiedforwelding.Othercuttingandbevellingprocessesarepermitted,providedtheirsuitabilityisdemonstrated.6.2 Identificationofpressureparts

7 Bendingandotherforming
7.1 General
7.1.1 Fabricatorsofformedpressurepartsshallhaveadequateprocedures,equipmentandtoolsfortheformingandthesubsequentheattreatment.Theprocedure forbendingshallbequalifiedaccordingtoEN12952‐5:2011,AnnexA,withregardtoexaminationandrangeofqualification.Pipes with internal coating such as glass, rubber or plastics shall not be formed unless it has beendemonstratedthattheformingprocessisnotdetrimentaltothelining.NOTE There are two kinds of formingwithin the scope of this European Standard: cold forming and hotforming.Thethicknessafterbendingorformingshallbenotlessthanthatrequiredbythedesign.Longitudinalweldsshouldbelocatedattheneutralzone.TherangeoftheneutralzoneafterbendingisgiveninFigure7.1.1‐1.
