Even though I am not the best at using it, I have my co-workers show me how it is done in order to get the desired results that I need. Microsoft Excel is excellent for creating charts to display data, use it for grading, and use it for different projects that students have completed over the course of the semester. After doing a little research, I found that I could create my own formulas to input my own data for my own charts. I also learned how to use both relative and absolute references in cells to create formulas in Microsoft Excel. When working on a fill series, I could see how percentages changed over the months between groups of students. I could look at chart components to see the relationships between months, test scores, and students all in one spread sheet. Below my objectives are posted with links to how I navigated through Microsoft Excel while mastering the objectives of how to use relative references of cells in a formula, to use absolute references of cells in a formula, to use a fill series, and to use chart components. I also have updated my updated skills checklist as well. Objectives: To become more intermediate and advanced in spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel.

When it comes creating formulas for data and charts, my go to is Microsoft Excel.

For the picture above I am showcasing the use of absolute references in a cell.

I clicked the cell of quiz grades that I wanted to order formulas.

I typed = (an equal sign) to begin the formula.

I then selected a cell, and then type an arithmetic operator (+, -, *, or /) I selected all of the students quiz grades.

Select another cell, and then press the F4 key to make that cell reference absolute. I needed to use all the students quiz grades to make sure they were entered in the cell.

When I was done, I pressed the enter bar to get the reference formula.

For the picture above I am showcasing the use of relative references in a cell.

I clicked the cell of quiz grades that I wanted to order formulas.

I entered the formula to calculate the desired value for the quiz grades.

After this was selected, I pressed enter on the key board and located the fill handel on the bottom right-hand cornor of the cell I want to calculate my problem with.

I was then able to click and drag the fill handle I wanted to fill.

On this picture, I showcased how to create a chart from the data input from Excel.

I selected the cells I wanted to chart, including the column titles and row labels. These cells will be the source data for the chart. I chose my Average quiz one reading grade for this chart.

From the Insert tab, click the desired Chart command. I chose to create a bar graph of each individual student.

I am then prompted to choose the desired chart type from the drop-down menu. (Bar Graph)
