The general outlook for the new decade is said to be fraught with uncertainties in the global economy, geopolitics and climate change issues. Despite this gloomy scenario – tourism, in particular, Islamic tourism is expected to be resilient and remain on a positive growth trajectory. The 4th Islamic Tourism Symposium will explore new opportunities for increasing the depth of Islamic tourism beyond the provision of Muslim friendly facilities and adherence to halal certification. Central to the theme of the symposium and the expected focus of the ensuing discourse will be the role of Islamic tourism in the new decade, in providing fresh ideas and solution to achieve a more responsible, ethical and spiritual form of tourism that is compatible with universal values and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. PAPER GUIDELINES

Cover Page: Consist of title and sub-title(s) of paper, name of author(s), institution affiliation (organisation/university), email address, and postal address.

Number of Words / Pages:

Abstracts: Not more than 300 words. Keywords (maximum 6) to also be supplied.

Manuscripts/Full paper: Not exceeding 10 pages including keywords (maximum 6), figures, tables and references.

Language: EnglishPage Size: A4File Format: Microsoft Word-compatibleFont: Times New Roman. 12 point.Margin: 1 inch or 2.5 cm

Authors are advised to meet the guidelines and formatting instructions to ensure that all submissions are synchronised in stipulated format.

The Review Committee reserves the right to re-arrange and re-categorise accepted papers to be presented in the form of Poster Presentation where deem fit.

POSTER GUIDELINES

Poster design and layout:

The entire poster must be mounted on a 40” X 60” foam core board.

The poster does not necessarily fill the entire working area. The board must be in ‘landscape’ position. Poster title, name and organisation/department should be

positioned at top-centre of the board. Make it obvious to the viewer how to progressively view the poster,

i.e. read left to right, connecting each panel with numbering or arrows.

Notes:Leave some open space in the design an open layout is less tiring to the eye and mind.

Language: EnglishText / Lettering: Text should be readable from 5 feet away. Use minimum font size

18 point. Title should be at least 70 point font, all CAPITAL LETTERS. Visuals must be simple and bold. Keep text brief.
