From small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, every company wants to be able to generate leads online. However, many companies don’t do it well, missing opportunities that could have converted to sales. Here are a few ways to e� ectively generate leads from your site.
1. Hire a professional web developer. 4. Include your contact information. It’s no longer just a phone number and address – you also want to include your social information. Make sure your social sharing icons and “follow” buttons are easy to � nd on the page. Ideally, they should be above the fold on your homepage and on the sidebars of blog posts.
5. Use a contact form on every applicable page. You will get better conversions with the lead form showing up above the fold. Have convincing (but not too “salesy”) calls to action. Not only can you then reach out to quali� ed leads, but you’re also building your email marketing list.
6. Show off your partnerships, awards, or any other badges. Develop a sense of trust by showing users that they can relate a well-known brand partnering with or showcasing your business. If you’re in association with industry-standard companies, let people know! If you’ve won an award, show it o� !
7. Use case studies and testimonials. People who come to your website want to see that others from outside your business are giving you props for your work. This imparts a lot of authority to your brand and shows that you can help others with their business, and that your customers are happy with your products or services.
8. Get more visual with videos. Videos are becoming more popular in business as a way to address customers and clients in a personal way. Send them out through your email marketing platform, and submit them to YouTube, Facebook, and other social channels to drive tra� c and engagement.

Wellspring Gift is a family-owned, Lancaster-based business that specializes in unique gifts and stationery (wellspringgift.com). The company was founded in 1980 by Joanne Van Roden, who initially sold her book Best Seafood Recipes all along the East Coast. The business has since grown considerably, and along with that growth came the need for technical support. We were able to
catch up with COO Bret Van Roden, Joanne’s grandson, to discuss how our partnership has bene� ted his business.
“Before EZSolution, we shu� ed through a couple IT � rms,” said Van Roden. “We struggled to � nd a provider who could recommend technology � tted for our unique business needs, and dive right away into the implementation phase.
“We kind of had a ‘there’s a � re, put it out’ mentality. Our server used to go down about once every 2 weeks. Server downtime prohibited work� ow. Employees didn’t trust the network. It was always an issue.”
Van Roden turned to EZSolution to help manage his network, and found a rewarding partnership. “It was generally accepted our server would crash occasionally, but this should not have been acceptable,” he said. “Since working with EZSolution we’ve experienced much less downtime.”
Van Roden said he appreciates the open communication between Wellspring and EZSolution. “I like having a voice to talk to for both network and IT infrastructure support,” he said. “It’s nice having a quali� ed ‘go-to’ team who isn’t going to charge you an arm and a leg for advice. It’s similar to having an in-house expert. EZSolution
does a good job of digging to the root of a problem quickly, which is helpful, and they can usually resolve minor issues while you’re on the phone with them.
“They also remind us of vulnerabilities and preventative maintenance we should be proactive about,” said Van Roden. “We always get consistent, subtle reminders—for instance, which systems are out of date and no longer supported, and the latest backup solutions available on the market. We may not pull the trigger on all of the items, but it’s nice to be aware. EZSolution has a realistic perspective on how the IT side of the business should be run for a small company.”

Although many business owners respond appropriately to protect their company’s sensitive data, most don’t consider what to do in the worst-case scenario that their data is stolen.
You may have taken precautions to protect yourself and your business—but what do you do if you fall victim? You have to move on, get back on your feet, and work your way through this unfortunate circumstance.
Once your data is stolen, it’s gone. Credit cards can be canceled, but other information, such as your name, address, social security number, and more can be more di� cult to control.
In 2014, social media accounts such as Twitter became more valuable to hackers than credit cards. These types of accounts are hot commodities on black markets.
If you fall victim to a data breach, you can still protect yourself. Here’s how:
Contact your credit card companies. Let them know you suspect you credit card info has been compromised. They will work with you to ensure you don’t face losses.
Keep a close eye on all your accounts. Watch for suspicious activity, and report it if you see it.
Change your passwords. This is particu-larly critical if you’ve been using a single password for multiple services.
Use a credit-monitoring service. They aren’t designed to prevent data from being stolen, but in the event of a breach, you’ll be noti� ed immediately so you can take action.
Taking these practical step can keep an unfor-tunate situation from becoming worse!
