Jeremy Peckham, BSc, FRSA

Jeremy has over 30 years experience in the IT and Telecommunications Industry as a scientist, consultant and latterly as a businessman and entrepreneur. He began his career with the UK Ministry of Defence at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, spent 12 years with Logica, the International Systems house, as Principal Consultant and Business manager. He founded Vocalis Ltd, the specialist UK speech recognition and voice processing company, through an MBO from Logica in 1993. In 1996 he floted the company on the London Stock Exchange. As CEO he established a US subsidiary in silicon valley, gaining experience in taking UK technology to the US market. After leaving Vocalis he established Strategis Consulting Ltd and has worked for a range of clients in Europe from small early stage companies to large telephone companies, advising on business strategy, financing and the development of new products and services. Jeremy is an active investor in early stage technology ventures, including SRC, L3T, Microvisk, Coffee Nation, Creative Rage and TagBak. He has several years experience of raising both private and Venture Capital funding and has acted as CEO, Chairman and Non Executive Director of many of his start up ventures. Over the last decade Jeremy has set up two Charitable Trusts and a Charity that sponsors orphans in Kenya (www.giveakidalife.com). He is Executive Chairman of Africa Rural Trainers (www.africaruraltrainers.org) that is involved in bible training of rural pastors and social entrepreneurship. He and his wife visit Kenya regularly. Jeremy is currently a visiting lecturer at the Griffiths School of Management at Emanuel University Oradea in Romania where he lectures on Leadership and Entrepreneurship. He also lectures and mentors young leaders from Europe and beyond at the annual European Leadership Forum and the Cambridge Leaders Network.
