IronTarget™ is a commercially available multi-cloud solution, providing our clients a simplified method to move to the

As a complete, turn-key solution, IronTarget’s automation creates an on-premises cloud, ready to connect to, and share

workloads with public clouds, enabling multi-cloud environments. The state-of-the-art technology within IronTarget also

allows for site-to-site failover, and resilient Continuity of Operations/Disaster Recovery (COOP/DR).

IronTarget is based on proven hardware and software technologies combined with a hyper-converged platform, allowing

for extreme scalability and growth, while maintaining the highest levels of performance and resiliency. Iron Bow uses its

expertise with leading hardware and software solutions to create the right configurations within IronTarget to meet each

client’s unique needs. Our industry partnerships allow Iron Bow to produce a certified and validated design-based system

as well as provide the highest level of support.

REALIZING MULTI-CLOUDIronTarget is an on-premises private cloud infrastructure built with software-defined data center components to

seamlessly integrate into a multi-cloud model. IronTarget allows clients to manage their entire cloud infrastructure

and automate from a consistent set of cloud management tools. Administrators can monitor, deploy, power on and off,

backup, restore and migrate workloads to and from data centers and clouds from a common centralized portal. This

approach supports multi-cloud environments by simplifying and normalizing workloads across all cloud deployment

strategies (e.g., on-premises cloud, government or contractor owned private cloud infrastructure).

IronTarget powers this hybrid approach to provide a quick route to cloud infrastructures. It is designed to virtualize

workloads, from server-based applications to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, creating an on-premises cloud, ready to

connect to, and share workloads with a public cloud, simplifying multi-clouds. While providing freedom of choice to use

multiple cloud providers, IronTarget simplifies cloud management by serving as the single point of management for these

various platforms.

INDUSTRY VALIDATION AND INTEGRATIONIronTarget provides a proven VMware Validated Design (VVD) on several industry leading hardware platforms. The

architecture includes VMware Cloud Foundation, which is built on three DoD-proven VMware virtualization technologies:

vSphere (compute), NSX (network) and vSAN (storage). All are managed from a centralized or distributed vRealize Suite

based Cloud Management system which provides performance, capacity, availability, incident monitoring and maintenance,

automated deployment and operations as well as centralized log consolidation and analytics. VMware Cloud Foundations

layers an additional software-defined data center manager on top of these four pillars that enables the seamless integration

of VMware-based private clouds and VMware on common public cloud platforms.

Iron Bow normalizes these approaches into a single as-a-service subscription with the flexibility and customization required by clients. This simplifies and de-conflicts the wide array of pricing options currently in use and capitalizes on existing perpetual licenses, service credits, leases and other as-a-service subscriptions.

IRON BOW IN ACTIONMeeting Modernization GoalsMany government systems and applications live on legacy hardware solutions and quite simply cannot be moved to the cloud. IronTarget allows agencies to virtualize these legacy applications so they can be used and hosted in cloud systems. Rather than modifying the application to work in the cloud, we make the cloud work for the application.

Realizing High AvailabilityThe hardware platform nature of IronTarget allows for new COOP/DR options. The ability to burst out to public clouds and/or store data in multiple private clouds ensures data is always safe and available. Additionally, the flexibility of the hybrid approach means workloads can move to a platform that meets usage needs in real time and can be managed through a single pane of glass.

Enabling CloudAs agencies are mandated to plan “cloud-smart,” a public cloud will likely not be the best option. Similarly, building a proprietary private cloud is not the most cost effective, long-term solution. A Department of Defense client needed to greatly reduce storage maintenance fees but was not ready to move all storage to the public cloud. IronTarget enabled them to easily modernize their storage architecture while future-proofing their investment for future public cloud migrations.
