More than 3000 Students and Staff Participate in Humanitarian
Action
Real natural catastrophic events happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina
and its neighbour countries Croatian and Serbia in may 2014, when
three months quantity of rains fell in just three day causing
rivers to leave their gorges and flood the countries. One third of
BH population had to leave their homes; many landslides were
activated, while many lives were lost. The UNSA Coordination
Committee for Helping the Victims of Floods held a meeting with
representatives of the Government of the FB&H and the Federal
Civil Protection. The schedule of activities was agreed for the
next days, regarding the capacities that the University of Sarajevo
has made available. The University of Sarajevo, together with the
UNSA Students’ Parliament made available more than 3000 students
and faculty members who have volunteered for activities organized
with the aim of helping the population and repairing the damage and
clearing flooded areas. According to instructions from the meeting
of the UNSA Coordination Committee with representatives of the
FB&H Government and the Federal Civil Protection, it was
decided that for the next days, 500 students and faculty staff on
daily basis will be engaged.

Univerzitet u Sarajevu je u saradnji sa Tempus kancelarijom u Bosni
i Hercegovini i Izvršnom agencijom za audiovizuelne
komunikacije i kulturu (EACEA) iz Brisela organizirao info sesiju
tokom koje su prezentirane mogunosti za ueše naših institucija u
novom Erasmus+ programu kao i informacije o tekuim Tempus
projektima. Erasmus+ je novi program EU za obrazovanje, struno
usavršavanje, mlade i sport koji e zamijeniti sedam postojeih
programa: Program za cjeloivotno uenje (Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci,
Comenius i Grundtvig), Mladi na djelu, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus,
Alfa, Edulink i Program saradnje sa industrijaliziranim zemljama.
Erasmus+ program e trajati sedam godina, od 2014. do 2020. godine.
Univerzitet u Sarajevu nalazi se u skupini visokoškolskih
institucija zemalja obiljeenih kao partnerske zemlje koje su u
procesu pribliavanja Evropskoj uniji: skupina zemalja Zapadnog
Balkana: Partner countries neighbouring the EU: Western Balkans
(zajedno sa Albanijom, Kosovom, Crnom Gorom i Srbijom). U novom
Erasmus+ programu dostupne su sljedee akcije: 1. Kljuna akcija 1:
individualna mobilnost u svrhu uenja (bivši Erasmus program): u
ovom trenutku ograniena je samo na kategoriju programskih zemalja
(Programme countries). U ovu kategoriju spada 28 EU zemalja +
Makedonija, Turska, Švicarska, Lihtenštajn, Norveška i Island.
Mobilnost ka i od partnerskih zemalja nije mogua. Partnerske zemlje
su istone partnerske zemlje, jugoistone mediteranske zemlje,
Zapadni Balkan (izuzev Makedonije) i druge zemlje (Ruska
Federacija). 2. Kljuna akcija 1: zajedniki master program:
koordinira iskljuivo zemlja iz skupine programskih zemalja, ali
partnerske zemlje mogu biti lan konzorcija (odgovara bivšem Erasmus
Mundus programu). 3. Kljuna akcija 2: strateška partnerstva:
koordinira iskljuivo zemlja iz skupine programskih zemalja, ali
partnerske zemlje mogu biti lan konzorcija (odgovara bivšem Tempus
programu). 4. Kljuna akcija 2: alijanse znanja: koordinira
iskljuivo zemlja iz skupine programskih zemalja, ali partnerske
zemlje mogu biti lan konzorcija. 5. Kljuna akcija 2: alijanse
sektorskih vještina: koordinira iskljuivo zemlja iz skupine
programskih zemalja, ali partnerske zemlje mogu biti lan
konzorcija.

industry). Erasmus+ will be implemented in duration of 7 years,
from 2014 - 2020. The University of Sarajevo has been placed in the
group of higher education institutions located in countries that
have begun their EU ascension. Specifically, it is about the
partner countries neighboring the EU - Western Balkans (together
with Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia). Within the new
Erasmus + program, the following actions are available: 1. Key
Action 1: Learning mobility of individuals (former Erasmus
program). At the moment, this category is limited only to the
program countries. This category includes 28 EU countries +
Macedonia, Turkey, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland.
Mobility to and from partner countries is not possible. The partner
countries are Eastern partner countries, South East Mediterranean
countries, the Western Balkans (except Macedonia) and other
countries (the Russian Federation). 2. Key Action 1: Joint master
degrees: is solely coordinated by a country from the program
countries group, however the partner country can be consortium
members (corresponds to the former Erasmus Mundus program). The
call will stay open until 27 March 2014. 3. Key Action 2: Strategic
Partnerships: is solely coordinated by a country from the program
countries group, however, the partner country can be consortium
members (corresponds to the former Tempus program). 4. Key Action
2: Knowledge Alliances: is solely coordinated by a country from the
program countries group, however, the partner country can be
consortium members. 5. Key Action 2: Sector Skills Alliances: is
solely coordinated by a country from the program countries group,
however, the partner country can be consortium members.
University of Sarajevo in cooperation with National Tempus Office
in Bosnia and Herzegovina and EACEA from Brussels,
Belgium, organized info session where new possibilites were
presented for participation of our institutions in new Erasmus+
program. Erasmus+ is a new EU program for education, training,
youth and sport which replaces current programs (Erasmus, Leonardo
da Vinci, Comenius i Grundtvig, Youth in Action, Erasmus

Odrana trening sesija „Kreiranje benchmarking dokumentacije –
osnove efektnog i efikasnog unapreenja kvaliteta na VŠU”
Trening sesije pod nazivom „Kreiranje benchmarking dokumentacije”
odrane su u maju 2014. godine u prostorijama Rektorata Univerziteta
u Sarajevu. Ovo su trening sesije iz oblasti benchmarkinga
organizirana u okviru Tempus projekta Benchmarking kao instrument
za unapreenje uinkovitosti visokog obrazovanja (Benchmarking as a
tool for improvement of higher education performance – BIHTEK) koji
ima za cilj uvoenje benchmarking prakse na osam javnih univerziteta
u BiH s ciljem jaanja sistema upravljanja kvalitetom i
uspostavljanja procesa stalnog unapreenja visokog obrazovanja u
BiH. Rijei dobrodošlice i elje za uspješan rad uesnicima treninga
uputio je prof. dr. Faruk Meki, prorektor za naunoistraivaki
/umjetnikoistraivaki rad Univerziteta u Sarajevu, a drugi trening
vodile su prof. dr. Aleksandra Nikoli i doc. dr. Dušanka Boškovi.
Nakon predstavljanja ciljeva i oekivanih rezultata treninga,
uesnici treninga su imali priliku upoznati se sa procesom kreiranja
benchmarking dokumentacije, nakon ega je rad nastavljen u grupama.
Polaznici oba treninga e dobiti certifikate o uešu te e im biti
ponueno ueše u radu benchmarking tima Univerziteta u
Sarajevu.
The Training Session “Creating the Benchmarking Documentation - the
Basics of Effective and Efficient Quality Improvement at a
HEI”
The training session entitled “Creating the Benchmarking
Documentation” was held in the UNSA Rectorate on May 2014. These
are the training session in the area of benchmarking that is
organized within the Tempus project Benchmarking as a Tool for
Improvement of Higher Education Performance – (BIHTEK). The BIHTEK
project aims to introduce benchmarking practices in eight public
universities in BiH with the purpose of strengthening the quality
management system and establishing the process of continuous
improvement of BH higher education. UNSA Vice-Rector for Research,
Prof. Dr. Faruk Meki delivered a welcome address, while Prof. Dr.
Aleksandra Nikoli and Ass. Prof. Dr. Dušanka Boškovi led the
trainings. After introducing the objectives and expected results of
the training, participants in the training had an opportunity to
become familiar with the process of creating documentation,
benchmarking. After that, the work was continued in groups.
Participants of both trainings will receive certificates of
participation. The participants will be offered to participate in
the University of Sarajevo’s benchmarking team.

Odrano predavanje dr. Valentina Inzka o temi „Nova odlunost graana
Bosne i Hercegovine“
U povodu 22. maja, dana prijema Bosne i Hercegovine u Ujedinjene
narode, u Sveanoj sali Univerziteta u Sarajevu, 19. maja 2014.
godine, dr. Valentin Inzko, visoki predstavnik za BiH, odrao je
predavanje o temi „Nova odlunost graana Bosne i Hercegovine“. Na
poetku svog obraanja dr. Valentin Inzko je izrazio saueše
porodicama stradalih osoba u poplavama i klizištima koja su
zahvatila BiH ali i solidarnost sa svima koji su imali i
materijalne štete. Podsjetivši da je Generalna skupština UN-a 22.
maja 1992. godine – bez glasanja – primila Bosnu i Hercegovinu u
lanstvo Ujedinjenih naroda, te da je prethodno – 20. maja – Vijee
sigurnosti UN-a usvojilo rezoluciju kojom se preporuuje da se ova
zemlja primi u lanstvo i izraava uvjerenje da e „Bosna i
Hercegovina dati znaajan doprinos radu ove organizacije”, dr.
Valentin Inzko je naveo: „Ova godišnjica lanstva u UN-u pada u
jednom prilino teškom periodu, ali, naravno, ako uzmemo u obzir
okolnosti pod kojima je ova zemlja tada primljena u lanstvo UN-a,
stvari onda dolaze u pravu perspektivu. U maju 1992. godine nad
Bosnom i Hercegovinom se nadvila tama. Danas, bez obzira na sve
njene probleme, mnogo je više svjetla nego tame. U godinama nakon
rata ova zemlja i njen narod napravili su znaajan raskorak izmeu
tragine prošlosti i sadašnjosti koja ima dosta nedostataka. Dosta
toga je uraeno, sada je izazov da se ne samo kree u pravom smjeru
nego da se kree bre, tako da moemo napraviti tranziciju ka potpunom
i trajnom oporavku.“ Podsjetivši na injenicu da su graani u ovoj
zemlji slini graanima u bilo kojoj dravi u Evropi, da imaju iste
probleme, iste brige i ista nadanja i strahove za svoju vlastitu
budunost i budunost svoje djece, dr. Inzko je naveo da je od kraja
rata Bosna i Hercegovina nainila pomake koristei mehanizme koji su
uspostavljeni u okviru Dejtonskog sporazuma, te da je danas
situacija znaajno bolja nego prije deset ili petnaest godina. „Ove
godine obiljeavamo 22. godišnjicu lanstva Bosne i Hercegovine u
Ujedinjenim narodima. Prije dvadeset i dvije godine, kada je
primljena u lanstvo kao nova drava lanica, ova zemlja je krenula u
period od tri i po godine uasnog mraka. Danas svjetlo postoji.
Moemo vidjeti put naprijed. Stvari se mogu poboljšati veoma brzo
ako graani uzmu sudbinu ove zemlje u vlastite ruke i budu
razgovarali o pozitivnim stvarima. Ovo se ve dogaa. Ako glas graana
postane jai i samouvjereniji u narednim mjesecima, imat emo više
osnova za optimizam nego što smo imali posljednjih godina.“
The Lecture on Topic ”The New Determination of the BH
Citizens”
On the occasion of 22 May, the date of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s
entering into UN membership, Dr. Valentin Inzko, High
Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered the lecture on
topic “A new determination of the BH citizens” in the UNSA
Rectorate’s Ceremonial Hall on Monday, 19 May 2014. Emphasizing the
fact that the citizens of this country are like the citizens of any
country in Europe sharing the same problems, the same concerns and
the same hopes and fears for their own future and the future of
their children, Dr. Inzko said that since the end of the war,
Bosnia and Herzegovina had been making progress using mechanisms
that had been established under the Dayton Peace Agreement, and
that the situation today was considerably better than it had been
ten or fifteen years. “This week we are marking the 22nd
anniversary of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s membership of the United
Nations. Twenty-two years ago when it was accepted as a new member
state the country had entered what turned out to be three and a
half years of terrible darkness. Today, there is light. We can see
our way forward. Things can get better and they can get better very
quickly if citizens take the fate of the country into their own
hands and debate a positive agenda. This has already started to
happen: if the voice of citizens becomes louder and more confident
in the coming months then we will have more grounds for optimism
than we have had for many years.”

“The Position of the Holly See (Vatican) in the Socio- Temporal and
International Order” Lecture
H.E. Msgr. Luigi Pezzuto, Apostolic Nuncio, held the lecture on
topic “The Position of the Holly See (Vatican) in the
Socio-Temporal and International Order“in the University of
Sarajevo’s Ceremonial Hall on Wednesday, 14 May 2014. UNSA Rector,
Prof. Dr. Muharem Avdispahi, Dr. h. c., delivered the welcome
address and in it reminded attendees that in fifteen days, on 29th
of May it would be 569th Anniversary of Pope Eugene IV’s
recognition of the Bosnian king. Rector Avdispahi also reminded
attendees that the Holy See recognized the Republic of Bosnia and
Herzegovina on 7th of April 1992. Within the topic “The Position of
the Holly See (Vatican) in the Socio-Temporal and International
Order“, H.E. Msgr. Pezzuto tried to elaborate the strategy and the
position taken by the Catholic Church and the Holy See before
certain aspects of the socio- temporal facts, in the national and
international levels. During the lecture, H.E. Msgr. Pezzuto spoke
about the concept of Holy See, the Holy See’s position in the
socio-political-temporal order and paid special attention to the
following questions: to which he specifically intends to respond
are: the Catholic Church and the Holy See, whose mission is clearly
spiritual in nature, in what capacity intervene in the
socio-politico-temporal order, in the national and international
levels?

društveno-vremenskom i internacionalnom poretku“
U srijedu 14. maja 2014. godine u Sveanoj sali Univerziteta u
Sarajevu NJ. E. monsinjor Luigi Pezzuto, apostolski nuncij u BiH,
odrao je predavanje o temi „Sveta Stolica (Vatikan) u društveno-
vremenskom i internacionalnom poretku“. Predavanje je otvorio prof.
dr. Muharem Avdispahi, dr. h. c., rektor Univerziteta u Sarajevu,
te je uz rijei dobrodošlice podsjetio da je za petnaest dana, 29.
maja, 569 godina od kako je papa Eugenije IV priznao kralja Bosne,
kao i na injenicu da je Republiku Bosnu i Hercegovinu Sveta Stolica
priznala 7. aprila 1992. godine. U okviru teme „Sveta Stolica
(Vatikan) u društveno-vremenskom i internacionalnom poretku“ NJ. E.
mons. Luigi Pezzuto je govorio o strategiji i poloaju Katolike
crkve i Svete Stolice naspram odreenih vidova društveno-vremenskih
injenica na dravnom i meunarodnom nivou. U toku predavanja nuncij
Pezzuto je govorio o pojmu Svete Stolice kao i o Svetoj Stolici
unutar društveno-politikog i vremenskog ustroja, te je posebnu
panju posvetio odgovorima na pitanja: U kojem svojstvu Katolika
crkve i Sveta Stolica, ija je misija oito duhovne prirode,
posreduju u društveno-politikom i vremenskom ustroju na dravnom i
meunarodnom nivou? Da li Katolika crkva i Sveta Stolica imaju pravo
posredovati u društveno-politikom i vremenskom ustroju?

The Government of Japan's Scholarships Presented
The Government of Japan offers four different scholarship programs
for BiH students who wish to study at Japanese universities under
the MEXT (Ministry of Education) scholarship program. On that
occasion, the MEXT scholarship program presentation was held in the
UNSA Rectorate on Friday 23 May 2014. Representatives of the
Department of Culture and PR of the Embassy of Japan and a former
MEXT scholarship alumni Held the presentation. The attendees were
acquainted with the conditions to compete, possibilities that
scholarships provide and with the experience of students who have
studies at Japanese universities. Since 1996, more than 30 students
from Bosnia and Herzegovina have been educated in Japan through the
MEXT scholarship programs. Details about all the scholarship

Predstavljeni programi stipendiranja Vlade Japana Vlada Japana nudi
etiri razliita programa stipendiranja za studente iz BiH koji ele
studirati na japanskim univerzitetima u sklopu programa
stipendiranja Ministarstva obrazovanja i nauke (MEXT). Tim povodom
su u petak 23. maja 2014. godine u prostorijama Rektorata
Univerziteta u Sarajevu predstavnice Odjela za kulturu i PR
Ambasade Japana i bivša stipendistica MEXT-a odrale prezentaciju
programa stipendiranja MEXT-a. Prisutni su tom prilikom upoznati sa
uvjetima konkuriranja i mogunostima koje pruaju stipendije, kao i
sa sistemom obrazovanja u Japanu. Od 1996. godine preko 30
studenata iz Bosne i Hercegovine je steklo obrazovanje u Japanu
putem programa stipendiranja MEXT-a. Detalji o svim programima

DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service Scholarships
Presented
In the UNSA Rectorate’s Ceremonial Hall on Monday, 26 May 26 2014,
a presentation of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD
scholarships and the prerequisites for studying in Germany was
held. The DAAD Office representatives in BiH presented scholarships
and gave all necessary information. In addition to other Southeast
European countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina has been since 2009
included in the scholarship program jointly funded by the DAAD and
the Open Society Institute (OSI). The joint program of the German
Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and of the Open Society Institute
(OSI) is designed specifically for students and PhD candidates with
an interest focused on the fields of political sciences, sociology,
international relations, law, economics, public administration,
public health, philosophy and philology. All information related to
the scholarships offer, instructions for application in the
competition and the necessary documents can be found at www.daad.de

Prezentirane stipendije Njemake slube za akademsku razmjenu
DAAD
U ponedjeljak 26. maja 2014. godine, u sali Senata Rektorata
Univerziteta u Sarajevu odrana je prezentacija stipendija Njemake
slube za akademsku razmjenu DAAD i preduvjeta za studiranje u
Njemakoj. O programima stipendija Njemake slube za akademsku
razmjenu DAAD, uvjetima za dobijanje i mogunostima koje pruaju ove
stipendije te o nainu studiranja i ivotu u Njemakoj tokom
prezentacije govorili su predstavnici ureda DAAD-a u BiH. Bosna i
Hercegovina je pored drugih zemalja jugoistone Evrope od 2009.
godine ukljuena i u program stipendiranja koji zajedno finansiraju
DAAD i Open Society Institute (OSI) koji je predvien za studente i
doktorante sa interesom za podruja politikih nauka, sociologije,
meunarodnih odnosa, prava, ekonomije, javne uprave, javnog
zdravstva, filozofije i filologije. Sve informacije u vezi sa

Konferencija Horizont 2020 (okvirni program EU za istraivanje i
inovacije) Šta Horizont 2020 moe ponuditi privrednicima i
fakultetima u BiH? Evropska unija je pokrenula okvirni program za
istraivanje i inovacije za period od 2014. do 2020. godine pod
nazivom Horizont 2020. I Bosna i Hercegovina, kao potencijalna
zemlja kandidatkinja za lanstvo u EU, moe uestvovati u programu ija
su sredstva predviena za istraivanje i inovacije. Program Horizont
2020 ima za cilj poveanje konkurentnosti Evrope globalno,
ekonomskog razvoja, te stvaranje novih radnih mjesta i
prevazilaenje ekonomske krize. Omogueno je aktivno ueše privrede,
posebno malih i srednjih preduzea da pokrenu inovativne projekte i
poveaju zaposlenost. Nakon uspješne prezentacije programa
preduzetnicima, naunicima i inovatorima u Mostaru, dvije
konferencije su odrane u Sarajevu u mjesecu maju 2014. godine.
Uesnici su imali priliku da uju uspješne primjere ueša kompanije iz
BiH u programu FP7, a akterima su dati odgovori na pitanja: šta
Horizont 2020 moe ponuditi? Kako pristupiti programu Horizont 2020
i EUREKA? Šta e vaš projektni prijedlog uiniti najboljim?
Konferenciju su organizovali projekat „Izgradnja kapaciteta u BiH
za evropske programe i inicijative za istraivanja i tehnološki
razvoj (RTDPI)“, koji finansira Evropska unija u saradnji sa
Ministarstvom civilnih poslova BiH.
The Horizon 2020 educational conference
Two educational conferences Horizon 2020 which has been organized
by the project Capacity Building of BiH in European Research and
Technology Development Programmes and Initiatives (RTDPI) cofounded
by the EU and the BH Ministry of Civil Affairs, were organized in
the Ceremonial Hall of the UNSA Rectorate in May 2014. The European
Union launched a framework program for research and innovation for
the period from 2014 to 2020 called Horizon 2020. Bosnia and
Herzegovina, as a potential candidate country for EU membership,
can participate in the program whose funding is intended for
research and innovation. The Horizon 2020 program aims to increase
the global competitiveness of Europe, economic development and job
creation and overcoming the economic crisis. It enables the active
participation of industry, especially small and medium enterprises
to initiate innovative projects and increase employment. The
participants had the opportunity to hear about successful examples
of BH companies’ participating in the FP7 program. The
presentations on following topics were delivered: Food security,
agriculture, forestry … in Horizon 2020; Health, wellbeing … in
Horizon 2020; Environment, climate actions … in Horizon 2020;
Social science as cross-cutting issue in Horizon 2020 thematic
fields; Marie Skodowska-Curie actions on skills, training and
career development and Practical design of a project concept.

Workshop for Heritage for profesionals
Department for History sciences at the University of Tuzla was a
host and organisator of a Workshop for Heritage profesionals as a
part of the implementation of the Tempus project BIHERIT. This
workshop, as a part of project BIHERIT coordinated by University of
Sarajevo, disscussed the subject of Heritage in Bosnia and
Herzegovina and how it can be achieved through projects
implementation in Sarajevo, Tuzla and Banja Luka. Previous workshop
was held in Banja Luka, while the next one (last) will be held in
Sarajevo.

Dana 08.05.2014. Odsjek za historiju Filozofskog fakulteta
Univerziteta u Tuzli bio je domain u radionici iz sektora kulture i
kulturne baštine u okviru Tempusovog BIHERIT projekta iji su
partneri: Univerzitet u Sarajevu (Bosna i Hercegovina) –
koordinator, Univerzitet u Ljubljani (Slovenija), Univerzitet u
Primorskoj (Slovenija), Univerzitet u Beu (Austrija), Univerzitet u
Kembridu (Velika Britanija), Slobodni univerzitet u Berlinu
(Njemaka), Univerzitet u Banja Luci (Bosna i Hercegovina), Zaviajni
Muzej u Travniku (Bosna i Hercegovina), Muzej Kozara u Prijedoru
(Bosna i Hercegovina), Komisija za ouvanje nacionalnih spomenika
Bosne i Hercegovine (Bosna i Hercegovina) i Univerzitet u Tuzli
(Bosna i Hercegovina). Radionica, predviena kao jedna od projektnih
aktivnosti, je obradila tematiku naslijea u Bosni i Hercegovini i
njenu implementaciju kroz projektnu primjenu BIHERITA na
bosanskohercegovake univerzitete. Prethodna radionica je odrana u
Banjoj Luci, a naredna e se odrati u Sarajevu.

TRAIN radionica
U sklopu implementacije TRAIN projekta, u mjestu Prno u Crnoj Gori
odrana je radionica, gdje su se sastali predavai TRAIN modula sa EU
univerziteta (Univerzitet u Gentu, Univerzitet u Kentu, Univerzitet
Uppsala, Univerzitet „La Sapienza“ u Rimu), kao i UP Transfer Gmbh,
Santander Group, te predstavnici Fondacije kralja Baudouina koja
finansijski podrava implementaciju TRAIN programa i budui predavai
TRAIN modula sa etiri univerziteta na Zapadnom Balkanu (Univerzitet
u Sarajevu, Univerzitet u Beogradu, Univerzitet u Novom Sadu i
Univerzitet Crne Gore), te TRAIN koordinatori sa etiri prethodno
navedena univerziteta na Zapadnom Balkanu. Svrha radionice jeste
trening za budue predavae TRAIN modula koje su odabrali etiri
univerziteta i koji e ubudue samostalno i m p l e m e nt i ra t i T
R A I N m o d u l e n a d o m a i m univerzitetima.
TRAIN WORKSHOP
Implementing the TRAIN project, a workshop was held in Prno
(Montenegro). This workshop gathered lectures of TRAIN modules from
EU universities (University of Gent, University of Kent, Uppsala
University, La Sapienza University of Rome), UP Transfer Gmbh,
Santander Group and representatives of the King Baudouin Foundation
who is a financial supporter of the TRAIN program. From Wester
Balkan side were future lectures of the TRAIN modules from four WB
universities (University of Sarajevo, University of Belgrade,
University of Novi Sad and University of Montenegro), as well as
TRAIN coordinators from these universities. The main purpose of
this workshop is training of the future lectures of TRAIN modules
which will be delivered by themselves at WB universities.

At the University of Sarajevo on in March and April 2014, the
training modules were presented, within
the Student Entrepreneurship project, under the topic “Business
Idea Development”. Within these training modules, students were in
opportunity to learn how to turn into business plans their ideas
through the interactive and practical workshops and lectures.
Lecturers are leading experts and proven BH entrepreneurs who will
transfer their knowledge and experience to BH students. All
participants will receive a certificate of participation in the
School of Business Ideas and the opportunity for candidating their
business plan for financing either individually or in the student
teams. Under the slogan Your Success Starts with Your Idea, the
Student Entrepreneurship project is going to be implemented for the
third year in a row. The GEA Center for Research and Studies from
Banja Luka, with the support of the U.S. Agency for International
Development (USAID), is going to lead the project. Through a series
of practical workshops and valuable cash prizes from the prize fund
of 48000 U.S. dollars (an increase for 12000$ this year), the
project gives students chance to make the reality from their ideas.

U okviru projekta „Studentsko preduzetništvo“ na Univerzitetu u
Sarajevu je u martu i aprilu 2014.
godine odrani su training modul na temu „Razvoj poslovne ideje“. U
okviru training modula studentima je pruena prilika da kroz
interaktivne i praktine radionice i predavanja naue kako da svoje
ideje pretvore u poslovne planove. Nastavu su vodili istaknuti
strunjaci i ve dokazani preduzetnici iz BiH koji su studentima
prenijeli svoja znanja i iskustva. Svi polaznici e dobiti
certifikat o pohaanju Škole preduzetništva kao i šansu da timski
ili pojedinano kandidiraju svoje poslovne planove za finansiranje.
Projekat „Studentsko preduzetništvo“, pod motom Tvoj uspjeh poinje
tvojom idejom, treu godinu zaredom realizira Centar za istraivanja
i studije GEA u Banjoj Luci uz podršku Amerike agencije za
meunarodni razvoj (USAID). Rije je o projektu koji kroz seriju
praktinih radionica prua šansu studentima da njihove ideje zaive u
praksi, a nagradni fond ove godine je uvean za 12.000 amerikih

Predstavljena dva Tempus projekta u kojima uestvuje Univerzitet u
Sarajevu
U povodu predstavljanja ciljeva i dosadašnjih aktivnosti u okviru
dva Tempus projekta u kojima uestvuje Univerzitet u Sarajevu,
Reforma nastavnog programa iz oblasti naslijea Bosne i Hercegovine
(BIHERIT) i Benchmarking kao instrument za unapreenje uinkovitosti
visokog obrazovanja (BIHTEK), na Univerzitetu u Sarajevu je u
etvrtak 3. aprila 2014. godine odrana konferencija za medije. O
uešu Univerziteta u Sarajevu u navedenim projektima kao i o
ciljevima projekata govorili su prof. dr. Faruk Meki, prorektor za
naunoistraivaki/umjetnikoistraivaki rad Univerziteta u Sarajevu, i
prof. dr. Aleksandra Nikoli, koordinatorica projekta BIHERIT i
kontakt osoba za projekat BIHTEK, a konferenciji za medije
prisustvovali su i stipendisti sa Univerziteta u Sarajevu koji e u
okviru projekta BIHERIT provesti dio akademske mobilnosti na
partnerskim EU univerzitetima. Naglašeno je da je u okviru Tempus
projekta BIHERIT bio objavljen Konkurs za prijavu za odlazak na
partnerske EU univerzitete na koji su se mogli prijaviti studenti
sa sva tri bh. partnerska univerziteta: Univerziteta u Sarajevu,
Univerziteta u Tuzli i Univerziteta u Banjoj Luci. Nakon isteka
roka odabrano je 16 stipendista koji e dio akademske mobilnosti
provesti na partnerskim EU univerzitetima u trajanju od 1 do 3
mjeseca (9 stipendista sa Univerziteta u Sarajevu, 2 stipendista sa
Univerziteta u Tuzli i 5 stipendista sa Univerziteta u Banjoj
Luci). Predstavljajui Tempus projekat Benchmarking kao instrument
za unapreenje uinkovitosti visokog obrazovanja (Benchmarking as a
tool for improvement of higher education performance – BIHTEK),
prof. dr. Aleksandra Nikoli je navela da u implementaciji ovog
projekta uestvuju svi javni univerziteti iz Bosne i Hercegovine i
to s ciljem izgradnje i jaanja kapaciteta javnih visokoškolskih
institucija u podruju prakse benchmarkinga, koji je jedan od
osnovnih alata za unapreenje kvaliteta, kako procesa obrazovanja i
istraivanja tako i upravljanja visokoškolskim institucijama.
Two Tempus Project involving the University of Sarajevo
Presented
A press conference took place at the University of Sarajevo on 3
April 2014 related to presenting the goals and implemented
activities within two Tempus involving the University of Sarajevo.
Those projects are Curriculum reform of heritage sciences in Bosnia
and Herzegovina (BIHERIT) and Benchmarking as a tool for
improvement of the higher performance (BIHTEK). UNSA Vice Rector
for Research, Prof. Dr. Faruk Mekic and Prof. Dr. Aleksandra
Nikolic, BIHERIT project coordinator and BIHTEK project contact
person presented these projects’ goals. University of Sarajevo
fellows who will spend a part of their academic mobility at
European universities, within the BIHERIT project, also attended
the conference. It was noted out that a Call for applications for
visiting the EU partner universities was announced within the
framework of the BIHERIT Tempus project. Students from all three BH
partner universities: Universities of Sarajevo, Tuzla and Banja
Luka were eligible to apply. After the deadline expiring, 16
fellows who will spend a part of their academic mobility at the EU
partner universities for a period of 1-3 months (9 scholarship
fellows the University of Sarajevo, 2 from the University of Tuzla
and 5 from the University of Banja Luka) have been selected. When
presenting the Tempus project Benchmarking as a tool for
improvement of higher education performance - BIHTEK, Prof. Dr.
Aleksandra Nikolic stated that all public universities in Bosnia
and Herzegovina participate in the implementation of this project.
She also said that this project aimed at building and strengthening
the capacities of public higher education institutions in the field
of benchmarking practices, which is one of the basic tools for
quality improvement, both of the education and research process,
and of higher education institutions management.

3. sastanak Radne grupe za razvoj modula informacijske pismenosti -
Tempus projekt „Razvoj informacijske pismenosti za cjeloivotno
uenje i ekonomiju
zasnovanu na znanju u zemljama Zapadnog Balkana“ Kao nastavak
aktivnosti na implementaciji Tempus projekta „Razvoj informacijske
pismenosti za cjeloivotno uenje i ekonomiju zasnovanu na znanju u
zemljama Zapadnog Balkana“, od 28. aprila do 1. maja 2014. godine
na Univerzitetu u Tirani (Albanija) odran je 3. sastanak Radne
grupe za razvoj modula informacijske pismenosti. Pored predstavnika
domaina, Univerziteta u Tirani, sastanku su prisustvovali
predstavnici Univerziteta u Kreti (Grka), Univerziteta Middlesex
(Velika Britanija) i Transilvanijskog univerziteta u Brašovu
(Rumunija) kao i predstavnici partnerskih institucija zemalja
Zapadnog Balkana. Predstavljajui aktivnosti i napore koji su
poduzeti na implementaciji ovog projekta, predstavnici Univerziteta
u Sarajevu, struni saradnici Fuada Musli i Mirza erkez, istakli su
aktivnosti i brojne korake na promoviranju ovog projekta koje je
Univerzitet u Sarajevu realizirao tokom 2013. godine. Jednosedmine
posjete koje su organizirane za predstavnike Univerziteta u
Sarajevu na Institutu za tehnologiju u Limericku (Irska),
Univerzitetu u Kreti (Grka) i Transilvanijskom univerzitetu u
Brašovu (Rumunija) bile su od velikog znaaja za bru i uspješniju
implementaciju projekta. Istaknuta je i promocija ovog projekta na
„Sajmu Univerziteta i univerzitetske knjige“ koji je organiziran u
okviru „26. meunarodnog sajma knjiga i uila“ u Sarajevu, te
organiziranje pres-konferencije na kojoj su predstavljeni Tempus
projekti u kojima uestvuje Univerzitet u Sarajevu, a meu njima i
ovaj projekt. Od posebne vanosti za implementaciju ovog projekta je
formiranje Odbora za biblioteko-informacioni sistem Univerziteta u
Sarajevu, kroz ije je aktivnosti predviena implementacija online
modula informacijske pismenosti. Takoer, u domaim indeksiranim
asopisima i zbornicima radova objavljeno je nekoliko strunih
tekstova o informacijskoj pismenosti, što je bila prilika da se
promovira ovaj Tempus projekt.
The 3rd Information Literacy Module Working Group (ILMWG) Meeting -
“Developing Information Literacy for Lifelong Learning and
Knowledge Economy in Western
Balkan Countries” Tempus Project As the continuation of activities
on the implementation of the Tempus project “Developing Information
Literacy for Lifelong Learning and Knowledge Economy in Western
Balkan Countries”, the third meeting of the Information Literacy
Module Working Group (ILMWG) took place at the University of
Tirana, Albania from 28 April to 1 May 2014. In addition to
representatives of the host University of Tirana, representatives
of the University of Crete, Greece, Middlesex University, UK and
Transylvania University of Brasov, Romania, as well as
representatives of partner institutions of the Western Balkan
countries attended the meeting. In presenting the activities and
efforts undertaken to implement the project, University of Sarajevo
representatives, senior officers: Fuada Musli and Mirza erkez
emphasized the activities and numerous numbers taken to promote
this project by the University of Sarajevo during 2013. One-week
visits were organized for representatives of the University of
Sarajevo at the Limerick Institute of Technology (Ireland),
University of Crete (Greece) and Transylvania University of Brasov
(Romania) were of great importance for faster and successful
project implementation. The project’s promotion within the project
on “University of Sarajevo and University Book Fair”, which had
been organized within the “26th International Book and Teaching
Aids Fair” in Sarajevo, was mentioned. In addition, the organizing
of a press conference at which the Tempus projects in which the
University of Sarajevo participates - including this one, was
mentioned. The establishing of the Committee for the library and IT
system at the University of Sarajevo was emphasized as crucial for
the implementation of the project. Through the aforementioned
project, the activities concerning the implementation of online
information literacy modules would be implemented. The several
expert papers were published in indexed domestic journals and
conference proceedings whose theme was information literacy, as
well as an opportunity to promote this Tempus project.

The Mevlana Mobility Program Presented
The presentation of the Mevlana students and teachers exchange
program, financed by the took place , " Mevlana " , funded by the
Higher Education Council of Turkey (HEC), took place in the
University of Sarajevo’s Rectorate on Wednesday 16 April 2014. UNSA
Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr. Faruk Mekic delivered a welcome
speech, while Ms. Ljiljana Sulentic, Senior Officer for
International Cooperation presented the Mevlana mobility program.
The interested candidates were in the opportunity to hear the
experiences of UNSA teachers who participated in the program, and
the experiences and recommendations of students and teachers from
the “Ondokuz Mayis” University in Samsun, who are currently
residing at the University of Sarajevo. It was pointed out that the
UNSA students and teachers may use this mobility program to stay at
universities in the Republic of Turkey with whom the University of
Sarajevo has signed protocols: the “Ondokuz Mayis" University in
Samsun, Trakya University and Kirikkale University (only for UNSA
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine).
Odrana prezentacija programa razmjene „Mevlana“
Prezentacija programa razmjene studenata i nastavnika „Mevlana“,
koji finansira Vijee za visoko obrazovanje Republike Turske, odrana
je u srijedu 16. aprila 2014. godine u prostorijama Rektorata
Univerziteta u Sarajevu. Rijei dobrodošlice prisutnima je uputio
prof. dr. Faruk Meki, prorektor za
naunoistraivaki/umjetnikoistraivaki rad Univerziteta u Sarajevu, a
informacije o programu razmjene „Mevlana“ prezentirala je gospoa
Ljiljana Šulenti, struna saradnica za meunarodnu saradnju.
Zainteresirani kandidati su imali priliku i uti iskustva nastavnika
sa Univerziteta u Sarajevu koji su koristili ovaj program, te
iskustva i sugestije studenata i nastavnika sa Univerziteta
„Ondokuz Mayis“ u Samsunu koji trenutno borave na Univerzitetu u
Sarajevu. Istaknuto je da studenti i nastavnici Univerziteta u
Sarajevu mogu koristiti ovaj program razmjene na univerzitetima
Republike Turske sa kojima Univerzitet u Sarajevu ima potpisane
protokole: Univerzitetu „Ondokuz Mayis“ u Samsunu, Trakijskom

Podrška mladim istraivaima u okviru Tempus projekta Quality in
Research
U povodu planiranog studijskog boravka deset mladih istraivaa sa
Univerziteta u Sarajevu na partnerskim univerzitetima u okviru
Tempus projekta Quality in Research (Kvalitet u istraivanju), na
Univerzitetu u Sarajevu je u petak 28. marta odrana konferencija za
medije. Implementaciju pilot projekta podrške mladim istraivaima te
ciljeve i dosadašnje aktivnosti Tempus projekta Quality in Research
predstavi l i su prof. dr. Faruk Meki, prorektor za
naunoistraivaki/umjetnikoistraivaki rad Univerziteta u Sarajevu, i
doc. dr. Senad Odak, koordinator Tempus projekta Quality in
Research, a konferenciji za medije prisustvovali su i mladi
istraivai sa Univerziteta u Sarajevu za koje je organiziran
dvosedmini studijski boravak na jednom od tri partnerska EU
univerziteta. Naglašeno je da je generalna ideja ovog projekta
definirati, razviti i uspostaviti okvir za ispunjavanje standarda
kvaliteta u istraivanju u regiji jugoistone Evrope u skladu s
evropskim i meunarodnim standardima. Drugi aspekt je stvoriti naunu
mreu izmeu mladih istraivaa u regiji kao i mladih istraivaa u
inozemstvu. Osim toga, vanost kvaliteta u istraivanju i njegov
utjecaj na dravne inovacijske sisteme u zemljama regije treba
pribliiti široj javnosti. To e pomoi u prilagoavanju esto
nepovoljne slike univerziteta u javnom mnijenju društava regije
jugoistone Evrope. Tree, cilj ovog projekta je pruiti podršku
mladom naunom kadru i njihovim istraivakim projektima kako bi se
prevenirao njihov odlazak u inozemstvo. Studijski boravak je
planiran za period 12–26. 05. 2014. godine. Nakon provedene
selekcije mladih istraivaa na zapadnobalkanskim univerzitetima i
usaglašavanja sa mogunostima EU univerziteta, formirana je finalna
lista mladih istraivaa koju ini 46 studenata, od kojih je deset sa
Univerziteta u Sarajevu. Projektom koordinira Univerzitet u
Sarajevu u saradnji sa projektnim partnerima: Sveuilištem u Mostaru
(BiH), Univerzitetom u Novom Sadu (Srbija), Dravnim univerzitetom u
Novom Pazaru (Srbija), Politehnikim univerzitetom u Tirani

Quality in Research Tempus Project Support for Young
Researchers
A press conference was held at the UNSA on Friday 28 March on the
occasion of the planned study visits for ten young researchers from
the University of Sarajevo at partner universities involved in the
Tempus project Quality in Research. UNSA Vice-Rector for Research,
Prof. Dr. Faruk Mekic and Ass. Prof. Dr. Senad Odzak, Quality in
Research Tempus project coordinator presented the pilot project for
support to young experts’ implementation and ongoing activities
within the Quality in Research. Young researchers, for whom the
two-week study visit to one of the three EU partner universities
has been organized, were also present at the aforesaid press
conference. The general idea behind this project – to define,
develop and establish a framework for fulfilling and meeting of
quality in research standards in the SE region, was particularly
emphasized. Another aspect is creating of a scientific network
among regional young researchers and those from abroad.
Additionally, the importance of the quality in research and its
impact on national innovation systems should be converged to the
general public in the countries of the region. These actions will
help in dispelling the often-negative public perceiving of
university in the South East Europe region. Thirdly, this project’s
goal is to provide support to young scientific staff and their
research projects, in order to prevent their moving abroad. Study
visits are planned for the period from 12 to 26 May 2014. Following
the made selection of young researchers at Western Balkan
universities and complying with the possibilities of EU
universities, the final list has been formed. This young researcher
list contains 46 students, from which ten are University of
Sarajevo students. In collaboration with the following project

Odrano predavanje o razvijanju meureligijskog sklada u
Indoneziji
Predavanje o temi „Razvijanje meureligijskog sklada u Indoneziji –
najbolji primjeri iz prakse udruenih propisa Ministarstva
religijskih poslova i Ministarstva unutrašnjih poslova“, koje je
organizirao Univerzitet u Sarajevu u saradnji sa Ambasadom
Republike Indonezije u BiH, odrano je u Sveanoj sali Univerziteta u
Sarajevu u etvrtak 17. aprila 2014. godine. Istakavši da Bosna i
Hercegovina i Indonezija nisu povezane samo religijski nego i
kulturno i duhovno, prisutnima se obratio Nj. E. gospodin
Subijaksono Sujono, ambasador Republike Indonezije u BiH. „Današnji
svijet se suoava sa globalnim problemima poput klimatskih promjena,
gladi, siromaštva, prirodnih nepogoda i drugim. Kako bi se ti
problemi riješili, vano je raditi zajedno u harmoniji. Religije
mogu pozitivno utjecati na prevazilaenje tih problema i posluiti
kao sredstvo za postizanje harmonije i solidarnosti. Nadamo se da
uz harmoniju i solidarnost moemo ispuniti naše zajednike ciljeve –
ivjeti u miru, harmoniji i prosperitetno“, istakao je ambasador
Sujono. Predavanje o razvijanju meureligijskog sklada u Indoneziji
odrao je prof. dr. Faisal Ismail sa Dravnog islamskog univerziteta
Sunan Kalijaga u Yogyakarti (Indonezija). Profesor Ismail je od
2006. do 2010. godine bio ambasador Republike Indonezije u Kuvajtu.
Takoer, bio je generalni sekretar Ministarstva religijskih poslova
Republike Indonezije (2002–2006) i šef Odjela za religijska
istraivanja i obrazovanje Ministarstva religijskih poslova
Republike Indonezije (2000–2002).
The Lecture on Interreligious Harmony in Indonesia
The lecture on topic “Development of Interreligious Harmony in
Indonesia: Best Practice of Joined Regulations between the Ministry

Republic of Indonesia in BiH took place in the UNSA Rectorate’s
Grand Hall on Thursday, 17 April 2014. By making an emphasis on the
link between B&H and Indonesia that is not just religious, but
cultural and spiritual one, H.E. Subijaksono Sujono, Ambassador of
the Republic of Indonesia to BiH said the following in his welcome
address: “The world today is facing global problems, such as
climate change, famine, poverty, natural disasters and so on. To
solve those problems, it is important that we work together in
peace and harmony. Religions can contribute positively to overcome
those problems and functions as a means to achieve harmony and
solidarity. We hope that through harmony and solidarity we can
achieve our common objectives, to live in peace and harmony and
prosperity” stated Ambassador Sujono. Prof. Dr. Faisal Ismail from
the State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga uin Yogyakarta in
Indonesia delivered the lecture on developing of the interreligious
harmony in Indonesia. From 2006 to 2010, he was the Ambassador of
the Republic of Indonesia to Kuwait. Also, he was the Ministry of
Religious Affairs’ Secretary General from 2002 to 2006 and Head of
the Department for Religious Research and Education at the
Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs.

INTERUV Third Regional Conference INTERUV Third Regional Conference
took place in The
Hague, on 21 – 22 May 2014. Approximately 150 participants from
EU/EOG (Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary,
Greece, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain,
Slovakia, United Kingdom, Croatia) and Western Balkans (Albania,
Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia) participated
in the conference. The conference was joined by institutions that
these Joint Study Programmes present challenge and need further
development. Interesting presentations, lively discussions,
networking sessions demonstrated the need to talk about joint study
programs both within the EU/ EEA, as well as in a more global
dimension. The INTERUV project focuses on: the promotion of the
idea of joint study programmes among higher education institutions
(HEIs) from the EU and third countries from the geographical
regions neighbouring the EU; supporting HEIs in introducing joint
study programmes into their institutional strategies for
internationalisation and the capacity building of institutions
acting at present as Erasmus Mundus National Structures and
National Tempus Offices in order to help them in the transition
period of preparation for the new programme Erasmus for All to be
implemented in years 2014-2012. More information about this project

TREA INTERUV REGIONALNA KONFERENCIJA U HAGU
U Hagu (Nizozemska), 21-21. maja 2014. godine odrana je dvodnevna
Interuv regionalna konferencija. INTERUV projekat se implementira
od strane konzorcija u ijem sastavu su predstavnici dravnih
struktura ERASMUS MUNDUS-a iz 15 zemalja Evropske Unije. Projekat
se implementira u periodu septembar 2012. – oktobar 2014. godine.
Uesnici konferencije su predstavnici institucija visokog
obrazovanja iz 16 EU/EEA zemalja i zemalja Zapadnog Balkana, kao i
institucija koje su angaovane u oblasti visokog obrazovanja za koje
Joint Study programi predstavljaju izazov i kojima je potreban
dalji razvoj. Predstavnici Univerziteta u Sarajevu su bili
rukovodilac Slube za medjunarodnu saradnju, dr. Jasna Bošnjovi i
struni saradnik za ECTS, mr. Jasmina Gradaševi- Pleh. Ciljevi ovog
projekta jeste promovisati ideju Joint Study programa u EU i u
zemljama koje su geografski susjedi EU, podrati
internacionalizaciju institucija visokog obrazovanja (HEI) i
doprinijeti razvoju kapaciteta institucija putem djelovanja kao EM

S4WB nudi širok spektar stipendija za studente i istraivae Zapadnog
Balkana, te im prua mogunost informiranja o finansijskoj pomoi za d
o d i p l o m s ke , p o std i p l o m s ke i doktorske studije.
Baza podataka nudi informacije o stipendijama iz 17 oblasti studija
u 33 drave širom Evrope. Edukacija je kljuna za doprinos
integraciji u Evropsku uniju. Stoga ova baza podataka daje
studentima Zapadnog Balkana jednostavan pristup d e t a l j n i m i
n f o r m a c i j a m a o mogunostima studiranja u inozemstvu, kao
i osnovne informacije o finansijskoj pomoi. S4WB e omoguiti
studentima Zapadnog Balkana da steknu nova iskustva u drugaijem
kulturnom okruenju i da ta iskustva primijene po povratku u svoju
domovinu. Ova web stranica je razvijena od SPARK- a, a finansirala
ju je belgijska Fondacija kralja Baudouina (KBF) s ciljem
promoviranja studentske mobilnosti na Zapadnom Balkanu.

important for contribution for integration to EU. That is way this
database offers simple approach to detailed information about
possibilities of studying abroad, and also information about
financial support. S4WB will provide for the students of the
Western Balkan to gain new experiences in different cultural
environment and to apply those experiences after their return to
