Country• Irene is from a place called Ajaccio France • She was born on January 16, 1895
Year of Emigration• Irene emigrated to the U.S. on December 28, 1907• She came on the S.S La Provence.• She went to Reno Nevada whereher father Antonio was already settled.
Reasons• She was an actor as a child • Was on Broadway when she got here
• Irene was married to Edgar Becman • Who she later divorced in 1917 • She then married again on October 24 1918 to
Broadway producer and lyricist E. Ray Goetz who produced many of her Broadway shows.
Occupation• At age 17 she made her Broadway debut in a
Shubert brothers production at the winter garden theatre.
• She sang many times both live and on the radio.• In 1929 her Broadway play Paris was adapted to a
talkie in which she reprised her starring role.
