The IQS E-Film Reader enables the user to view digital images that represent sequential frames on microfilm. Each image is identified by a frame number. Frames are ordered as they appear on film and do not necessarily correspond to
any particular page number.
E-Film Basics
First, in the Select TypeOption box, click on the triangle to select “Land Records.” It is your only option.
The Land Records option will then becomeavailable. Type in the number of the book you want, for example, 1205. If your bookhas a letter in the beginning, such as W33, DO NOT insert a dash between the letter
and the number. Hit Enter to bring upthe pages of the book.
Finding Images
Any frame maybe be brought upby using the controls near the top of the
screen. You may either type the desired number in the “Go to Frame” field. To go back a specified number
of frames, type a minus (-) sign and the desired number. This will also work with
with the plus (+) sign.
For example: +10 will advance10 frames.
Viewing Multiple Frames
You may choose to view a singleframe or multiple frames by selecting
the desired frame setup from the “Frames” drop down list. Custom
frame setups can be entered directlyinto the list.
The screen is toggled between a single frame and multiple framesby clicking the frame toggle button in the upper right corner of
each frame.
Using the Mouse on the Image
The mouse may be used to perform various actions when clicked on the image. The
image toolbar in each frame allows the user to set the desired mouse action for that frame
Getting to Mouse Mode
Click on the MouseControl button to select the desired
mouse mode.
Different Mouse Modes-Grab Mode: Allows you
to move document by holdingleft mouse button and moving
the mouse.
-Zoom Mode: Allows you to zoomin by left clicking and zoom out by
right clicking.
-Select Box and Zoom: Allows you to highlight an area on the document
by holding the left mousebutton, drawing a box by moving
the mouse, and releasing thebutton once the desired are is
boxed in.
-Select Box and Print: Allows you to highlight an area on the documentto be printed by holding the leftmouse button, drawing a box by moving the mouse, and releasingthe button once the desired area
is boxed in. The Print dialog box thenappears allowing the user to make any
adjustments before printingthe selected area.
Zooming Images
If the mouse mode is set to “Zoom,” the image may be zoomed larger by clicking the image with the left mouse button and zoomed smaller by clicking with the right mouse button.
Toolbar buttons also allow additional resizing features such as “fit to width,” “fit to height,” and specific zoom ratios.
Printing in Mouse Mode
To print in MouseMode, simply click
the print button in the top right hand
corner.
Printing in Regular Mode
To print a single image, clickcheck box above the desired
image. To print multiple imagesselect the box above each
desired image. After you havemade your selections, click the the “Print” button. Ranges of
images may also be specified in the print dialog.
