SEMINAR RULES

Seminars are critical to your success in this course, and you should strive to attend each one.

However…

If it is necessary to miss a seminar, Kaplan protocol allows you to make up the seminar points by listening to the archive and writing a 1-2 page paper on what was covered. Submit the work to me as an e-mail attachment.

SEMINAR RULES

You're welcome to use the first few minutes of the seminar to greet each other, but once we begin, please confine your posts to the lesson.

I will provide time for you to ask questions both before and after the PowerPoint presentation.

UNIT 1 WORK—WHAT’S GOING ON THIS UNIT

As you will discover from my Bio I have traveled extensively around the country and around the world from Alaska to Saudi Arabia. I believe this gives me a multi-cultural approach to teaching with real life experiences to share about the real world you will enter after college.

I have a Master’s Degree in English, but I do not have an earned Doctorate. Therefore, you should address me as Mr. or Professor Russo or Tony.

TIPS FOR GETTING GOOD GRADES

Use 12-point font (type size) for the entire paper. This includes the title page.

Either Times New Roman, Courier, or Arial font is acceptable. I would appreciate your using Arial.

This is Arial 12 This is Times New Roman 12

Do not center or full justify the body of your essay. To “full justify” means to have the right margin end in an even line instead of ending naturally as you type.

Do not use any font larger than 12 and do not use bold. When you use APA, think boring and you will probably get it right. (LOL)
