FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INTRODUCING THE CELESTION G12H-75 CREAMBACK, HIGH POWERVINTAGE GUITAR SPEAKER

– Vintage G12H tone with greater power handling capability for

modern amplifiers –

Celest ion, Ipswich UK, January 24, 2013 – Celest ion, the world’s leading

manufacturer of premium guitar speakers announces the launch of the

G12H-75 Creamback , the latest addit ion to our guitar speaker range and

second Creamback model.

Following on from the success of the G12M-65 Creamback, launched in 2012, Celestion

have created a “Creamback version” of their historic G12H guitar speaker. The brand new

G12H-75 Creamback is a 12” ceramic magnet loudspeaker, with a 1.75” voice coil, offering

100dB sensitivity and 75-watt power handling with true vintage tone.

When Celestion’s guitar speaker engineers first built a G12H back in the late 60s, they did

it by fixing an ‘H’ type (heavy) magnet to the body of a G12M guitar speaker. They

replaced the ‘M’ type (medium) magnet, while keeping the chassis, coil and cone exactly

the same. The result was greater power handling and a different tonal balance, with a

firmer bass and more pronounced top end. Another legendary guitar speaker was born!

So in the same spirit of innovation, we took the new G12M-65 Creamback and gave it an

‘H’ magnet, to create a new speaker with the sonic signature of the G12H and Creamback

levels of power handling.

The G12H-75 Creamback delivers 75-watts of power handling with ease and has

unmistakeable G12H tonality. Just like the relationship between the original G12H and

G12M, the G12H-75 Creamback has a tighter low end than the G12M-65 Creamback, with

a less prevalent mid range and more pronounced highs.

Not only that, the addition of the H magnet has the tonal effect of thickening single notes,

adding focus, body and girth which results in a highly articulate, vocal character. These

additional characteristics mean that the G12H-75 Creamback offers exceptional

performance when used for lead guitar or loaded into a 4x12 cab.

NEW ENTRY-LEVEL COMPRESSION DRIVER COMPLEMENTSCELESTION’S COMPREHENSIVE CDX RANGE

– Delivering exceptional performance at highly competitive

price point –

CELESTION, IPSWICH UK, JANUARY 24, 2013 – Celestion, one of the

World’s leading developers of professional audio loudspeakers and compression

drivers, today announced the introduction to its range of CDX1-1010: a low

profile, lightweight 1-inch exit ferrite magnet HF device.

World-renowned for their exceptionally reliable, high quality compression drivers, Celestion

have added a brand new unit to their CDX range. The CDX1-1010 is a lightweight, ferrite

magnet HF device that has been introduced at a very cost-competitive price point, making

Celestion compression driver technology even more accessible to reinforcement system

builders.

Developed at Celestion’s headquarters in Ipswich, England, CDX1-1010 has a 25mm/1.0-

inch voice coil and throat exit. The compression driver provides 20-watt power handling

(AES Standard, RMS) and delivers 105dB sensitivity over a frequency range of 1500-

20,000Hz.

The magnet assembly and overall acoustic design have been optimised using FEA (Finite

Element Analysis) modelling techniques, to deliver a much smoother frequency response

than many comparable drivers on the market.

This ferrite magnet device is fabricated using a rigid engineering thermoplastic with a

standard screw thread fitting. Acoustic foam is utilised to minimise internal air cavity

resonances, dampening unwanted reflections from the inside of the cover.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CELESTION INTRODUCES THE CDX20-3075 2.0-INCH EXITCOMPRESSION DRIVER

– High performance ferrite magnet compression driver –

CELESTION, IPSWICH UK, JANUARY 24, 2013 – Celestion, a pioneer in the

development of professional loudspeakers for almost 90 years, has announced

the arrival of the CDX20-3075 2.0-inch exit, high performance, ferrite magnet

compression driver.

With a 3” copper clad aluminium voice coil driving a titanium diaphragm, the device

delivers 75Wrms power handling and 107 dB sensitivity. The CDX20-3075 additionally

incorporates a number of advanced features to minimise distortion and enhance overall

performance.

Principal among these is Maximised Modal Suppression (MMS), consisting of a patented

phase plug and diaphragm design, intended to greatly reduce levels of high frequency

distortion.

This advanced phase plug was developed at Celestion’s UK headquarters by the Group

Research team, headed by, Mark Dodd. It completely re-defines the criteria by which the

physical dimensions of a compression driver phase plug are calculated, superseding the

conventional method which is now more than 50 years old.

Working together with the new phase plug is a deep-drawn titanium diaphragm: its shape

is deeper than those of conventional compression driver diaphragms, which has the effect

of increasing the membrane’s stiffness. The rolled polyimide diaphragm surround improves

stiffness control and together these features contribute to a genuine reduction in distortion.

The newly designed phase plug and diaphragm additionally deliver a lower compression

ratio, reducing air non-linearity and allowing for higher maximum SPL. They also provide a

curved coherent wavefront at the driver’s exit, thereby optimising the unit for horn-loading.

Celestion’s next generation of Sound CastleTM diaphragm clamping assembly has been

created to actively reduce stress on the diaphragm during operation; yet another feature that

contributes to lower distortion, as well as ensuring even greater consistency of performance.
