Fall 2016    Overview: Have you ever wondered what it is like to work on a political campaign? Do you want to prepare yourself for a career in politics upon graduation? Are you interested in furthering your future career and improving your resume? If you answered yes to any of the questions above, apply today for an internship with Congressman Mike Bost’s re-election campaign for Illinois’ 12th Congressional District. Mike’s campaign is currently seeking qualified young men and women with a passion for politics for our fall internship program in our offices in Fairview Heights and Carbondale. Intern Responsibilities: Interns with the campaign will be responsible for a number of important tasks. These include, but are not limited to:

• Voter registration drives • Get out the vote efforts and voter contact • Event planning & advancement • Office management • Campaign communications and messaging • Assistance with fundraising

Intern Benefits: Although the internship program is unpaid, there are numerous benefits to be found for students. These include, but are not limited to:

• Valuable experience working on a congressional race • An improved resume • An expanded political and business network • The opportunity to meet and campaign with leading political figures • Possible promotion to paid staff

Intern Qualifications: All students are encouraged to apply, but the ideal candidate will possess most of the following attributes:

• Strong writing and critical thinking skills • Strong verbal and communication skills • Strong organizational skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • The ability to maintain a set work schedule

About Mike: Mike is a former marine, small business owner, and State Representative for Illinois’ 115th Legislative District – a capacity in which he served for twenty years. He has been the Congressman for Illinois’ 12th Congressional District since January 3, 2015. He currently serves on three committees in the U.S. House of Representatives: Agriculture, Transportation, and Veterans’ Affairs. Apply Today!
