Connecting other computersSetting up Swisscom DSL on another computerYou can also use your DSL Internet access on other computers in the same house.

Connecting the computer by cableYou have two options for connecting the computer to your DSL modem by cable:

Ethernet cable and the optical connection kit are not included with the modem and are available from the Swisscom Shop.Simply connect the computer to one of the free (Ethernet) ports on the back of the DSL modem and you‘ll be online.

on: The modem is connected us-ing a DSL cable.

flashing: The DSL connection is being started.

off: The DSL cable has been dis-connected.

on: The modem is correctly con-nected to the mains.

on (red): The modem is currently being started, or the power supply is inadequate.

off: The modem is not connected to the mains or is not swit-ched on.

on: A computer is correctly con-nected to the port.

flashing: Data is being received or trans-mitted via this connection.

off: There is no computer connect-ed to this port, or the compu-ter is switched off.

> 1. Ethernet cable You will require additional Ethernet cables in order to connect further computers to

the DSL modem by means of an Ethernet cable.

> 2. Optical connection kit You will require an Optical connection kit if you plan to connect another compu-

ter by optical fiber cable. Note: Optical-fiber cables are easier to lay in your apartment or house because they

are slim and insensitive to electrical interference.

Note:If you should come across any other problems when setting up which you cannot resolve even with the use of these instructions, please contact us on 0800 800 800.

Troubleshooting

1 Does the «Power» light illuminate on your DSL modem? No > Check the mains adapter and power supply.

2 Does the «DSL» light illuminate on your DSL modem? No > The DSL line is disconnected or not switched on yet.

> Check the cabling between the DSL modem and the telephone socket. > Check the deadline for switching on DSL, or contact us on 0800 800 800.

3 Does at least one «Ethernet» light illuminate on your DSL modem? No > Check that your computer is properly connected to the DSL modem.

4 Have you used a microfilter for each telephone? No > Use a microfilter for each telephone.

5 Are you using the supplied cable? No > Only use the supplied cable.

6 Is your Internet connection now working correctly? Unfortunately not > Contact us on 0800 800 800.

Note:You will require a microfilter for each telephone you have in your house. You can get additional micro-filters from the Swisscom Shop. 6 Connect your telephone to the « » outlet of the mi-

crofilter. Pick up the phone and check if there is a dial-ling tone.

1 Connect the black cable of the microfilter to the tele-phone socket.

2 Connect the telephone cable (violet) to the microfilter (outlet « ») and the DSL modem («DSL » outlet).

3 Connect the Ethernet cable (yellow) to the DSL mo-dem (outlet «Ethernet 1») and the DSL modem (outlet «LAN / »).

4 Connect the mains adapter to the DSL modem and the socket.

Warning: You must use the supplied mains adapter.

5 Now switch on the DSL modem and the computer. Note:Then wait until at least one «Ethernet», the «DSL»

and the «Power» lights illuminate on the DSL modem.

7 If you are anewcustomer, you still have to register your DSL. To do this, follow step 3 of this leaflet.

If you are an existingcustomer (i. e. you already have a Swisscom internet connection), you can now use the Internet.

Warning: Use an additional microfilter for each additional telephone that you connect to other telephone sockets in your household, as described in step 1. You can get addition-al microfilters from the Swiss-com Shop.

3 You will be guided through the registration step by step. Fill out all mandatory fields.

4 At the end of the registration, print out the data sheet and enter all the data in the watch list on the following page of this leaflet.

1 Start-up your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.).

2 The DSL registration page will appear in your browser automatically.

If the registration page does not appear automatically, please refer to the next two notes.

Note: If your router (DSL modem) has not

yet been fully configured, a progress bar will be displayed. Wait until this process is complete and then continue to step 3.

Note:If neither the DSL registration page

nor the progress bar are displayed, enter «www.swisscom.ch» in the address field of the browser and press enter .

3. Register Swisscom DSLOnly for new customers:

To be able to use DSL as a new customer, you must first register it. (Existing customers do not need to register DSL.)
