International Centre for Applied SciencesEstablished in 1994, the International Centre for Applied Sciences (ICAS), Manipal University, has been facilitating a unique International Transfer Programme. Under the Programme, students can complete the first two years of study at Manipal University, India. The following two years can be pursued at a premium university in the foreign country of their choice such as USA, UK, Australia, Germany, Canada, France and many more by transferring their credits obtained from �rst two years of study. On completion of the programme, the student can obtain an Engineering Degree awarded by the destination international university. In case, students do not opt for the international transfer, they can continue their third year of study at Manipal and on its completion can obtain BSc (Applied Science) degree from Manipal University.

Over the years, about 100+ foreign universities have been accepting ICAS credits, thus o�ering a wide range of universities from which the ICAS students can pursue their �nal two years. The students are free to apply to any foreign university of their choice thus providing them a wide platform to jump start a successful career.

This unique program is made possible by adopting all the teaching and evaluation methods that are followed by universities abroad, thus enabling an easy transfer to any foreign university. As a testament to the success of this programme, ICAS has seen over 1,500 students pass through its campuses and continue their studies abroad.

The students also bene�t from the flexibility of choosing or changing the branch or major area of specialisation after entering the programme at foreign universities. For example, a student who has opted for mechanical branch may change to aviation or automotive streams and a student who has opted for electrical and electronics during the �rst two years at Manipal may change over to biomedical or communication stream.

• Pass 10+2 (CBSE, ICSE, ‘A’ Levels, IB, HSC, OSSD, American High School Diploma or equivalent examination)

• Students from Non-English medium of instruction are eligible to apply if the obtain a score of above 90 in the TOEFL exam

• Engineering Drawing or Biology as optional subjects for admission to B.Arch

• Students seeking admission to Architecture at ICAS need to have minimum of 80 out of 200 in NATA exam

• Diploma holders (after 10th) are not eligible for the program

Students who meet the below mentioned criteria are eligible for the ICAS program

A photograph and a copy of your signature has to be uploaded along with an application fee of Rs.2000. The application fee can be paid in any one of the following ways:

• Online payment through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking • A Demand Draft of Rs.2000/- has to be made in favour of Manipal University, payable at Manipal or Udupi. The details should be �lled up in the online application form and the Demand Draft must be couriered to the following address:

Pedagogy adopted at ICAS stresses on continuous evaluation through regular Quizzes, Tests, and Assignments that help students apply theoretical concepts to practical problems. Emphasis is placed on close Industry-academia interaction through frequent lectures given by industry experts. Students are allowed the opportunity to engage in self-study by optimizing the total credits required in the Engineering programme. All students are given laptops, with campus-wide Wi-Fi connectivity to enable 24x7, everywhere learning. Frequent skill and aptitude training programmes are conducted for improving the soft skills of students. Through various student managed clubs at the University, students can participate in community service and extra-curricular activities to demonstrate a passion for all round development.

NOTE:• Tuition fees for Year 3 and 4 will depend on the university to which the student will transfer. The above mentioned �gures are approximate.

• The �rst year fee for Aviation/Aerospace will be INR 4,65,000 and the remaining years fees will be based on the university to which the student is transferred.

• The students who opt for BSc (Applied Sciences) degree and continue their studies at Manipal, have to pay the third year tuition fee as prescribed by the University from time to time.

• Laptop computers will be given to all students admitted to this course.

If the student chooses to withdraw from the program of studies in which he/she is enrolled, the refund of the fees will be made as per the details given below:

• In case of (1) in the table above, the University shall deduct INR 10000/- (Ten Thousand only) as processing charges from the refundable amount.

• In case of Foreign/NRI candidates, the refund will be made in accordance with RBI/foreign exchange regulations.

• All refunds will be processed by the Student Finance O�ce of the University upon receiving the approval from the Registrar based on the recommendation of the Director, Admissions. Requests for withdrawals should be made in the prescribed application available at the Admissions O�ce. Refund will be made only after the candidate has surrendered the ID card, original fee receipt and the dues clearance certi�cate.

• Application and Entrance Test fees, wherever applicable, once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
