Tourism
Manaus is located in northern Brazil. It was founded in 1669, but became a city in 1848. It is located next to the largest ecological reserve in the world: the Amazon Rainforest. The population is estimated at 1.8 million inhabitants. It is also home to the largest river basin in the world. The city was influenced by the British architecture, during the Rubber Boom, when Manaus received English immigration. This is reflected in the architecture of the city.In addition to presenting options for urban tourism, ecotourism also plays a prominent role, suggesting new avenues for sustainability of the region..
