Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullah Wabarakatuh

Alhamdulillaahi rabbil 'alamin, praise be to Allah Subhanahu

wata'ala. Solawat and salam for the Prophet Muhammad Sollallahu

'alaihi wasallam.

With the grace of Allah Subhanahu wata'ala, MUKISI are able to continue with its da'wah

activities through Islamic healthcare efforts that spreads across the region. With His

blessings, we shall endeavor into this event which shall bring together all components of the

ummah, who are concern with the defense of the ummah through healthcare efforts, namely

the 1st International Islamic Healthcare Conference and Expo (IHEX) which will be held

on 10th-12th April 2018 at the Jakarta Convention Center. In its first occasion, we chose

the theme "Establish Shariah Hospital in the Region Through Consolidation of

Potentials of the Ummah".

The IHEX conference (seminars and workshops) in this first occasion discuss on issues

which made Islamic healthcare services distictive, particularly on shariah hospital. It will be

packaged into four program agenda:

1. International Seminar on Shariah Hospital. Presenting speakers from within and outside

the country, not only from the perspective of health practitioners but also from the

academia and other field practitioners, so that participants can discuss topics on shariah

hospitals in the context of consolidating the potentials of the ummah on a national and

international scale.

2. Workshop on Shariah Hospital. Presenting speakers who will share knowledge and

practical steps in implementing aspects of shariah hospitals, in the context of preparing

for the certification of shariah hospitals.

3. Islamic Healthcare & Halal Products Exhibition. Includes the exhibition of healthcare

products, pharmaceutical, and other related industries relevant to healthcare services

and halal products, both domestically and internationally. Participants can learn about

the latest health technology and halal products.

4. IIMA (Indonesia Islamic Medical Association) Annual Meeting. Comprise of three

Islamic health organizations under IIMA and affiliated to FIMA (Federation of Islamic

Medical Association), namely MUKISI (Islamic Health Institution Network of

Indonesia), FOKI (Indonesian Islamic Medical Forum) and IMANI (Indonesia Islamic


Medical Association and Network of Indonesia), shall meet in a joint annual meeting to

discuss on collaborative agenda in serving the health of the ummah.

It is my hope that Allah Subhanahu wata'ala gives us all the ability to contribute in this

da'wah effort. This is a form of actualization of our creation purpose as His servant, to

worship Him, and to bring benefit to the religion, the ummah and he nation.

Bismillaahirrahmaanirrahiim

Assalamu ’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

Following takbir and tahmid, our gratitude for everything that has

been given by Allah the Almighty. Solawat and salam always be

addressed to the best model throughout time, Rasulullah Muhammad

Sollallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.

The Islamic Health Institution Network of Indonesia (MUKISI) shall organize the 1st IHEX

(International Islamic Healthcare Conference and Expo), which will be held on 10th - 12th

April 2018 at the JCC (Jakarta Convention Center).

This year, IHEX will put its focus on shariah hospital, a central issue in MUKISI, as well as

the differentiation with other hospital associations. Shariah Hospital will be discussed from

several different approaches with the same goal, that is to establish shariah hospitals in the

archipelago. We invite the public to enliven this event in the context of Islamic da'wah

efforts. The series of events has been designed so that we can establish the collaboration of

all components of the ummah in this effort, not only the components of the ummah in the

country but also components of the ummah abroad. The ummah is like the human body that

has interconnectedness and dependence on one another.

Important issues concerning shariah hospital will be discussed in the series of IHEX

activities. In addition to international seminars, there will also be workshops which discuss

on more technical issues in preparation for Shariah hospital certification. There are also IIMA

annual meeting (Indonesia Islamic Medical Association). IHEX also serves Islamic

Healthcare and Halal Product Exhibition in order to complete the participants' insight on the

development of healthcare technology which is connected to halal products.

As the head of the committee, it is our hope that Allah will ease everything. With the support

of everybody involved, may this event pave the way forward to answer the needs of the

ummah for a shariah compliant healthcare services.

May Allah Almighty help us all. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

Networking is compulsory in this era of globalization era including

healthcare where Indonesia is heading towards Universal Health

Coverage (UHC) in 2019. Based on the roadmap of the National

Health Insurance (JKN) in 2019 it is targeting around 270 million

people in Indonesia to be covered by the UHC, a huge number

compared to similar program in other countries.

On the other hand, statistically according to the National Population Census in 2010

approximately 87% of Indonesian population are Muslims. Among these percentage those

with daily expenditure of USD2-20 or IDR24,000-240,000 make up to 130 million persons.

This community, by Yuswohady et al (2015) in his book, Marketing to the Middle Class

Muslims undergoes a “revolution” in fundamental behavioral shift along with increase in

purchasing power. The two basic value transformations in the middle class Muslim

consumers are the increasing value of religiosity in daily lives and increasingly open mindset

towards changes. This includes the healthcare sector, which should be the concern of all

stakeholders in healthcare; from medical schools, healthcare institution and Islamic hospital

and also the healthcare professionals.

IMANI (Islamic Medical Association and Network of Indonesia) being part of Indonesia

Islamic Medical Association (IIMA) under the Federation of Islamic Medical Association

(FIMA), is committed to be an inseparable part of the sustainable effort to provide

professional and dignified Islamic healthcare service. In the effort to improve the level of

health in the community in general, and the ummah in specific, The 1st Islamic Health Care

Conference and Expo (IHEX) 2018 proves the words of the Prophet; Khairunnas ‘anfa'ahum

linnas, the best human is the one who is beneficial to others.

Our highest appreciation to all who contributes in organizing this event. Jazakumullah

INDONESIAN ISLAMIC MEDICAL FORUM (FOKI)

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh

All praise goes to Allah who has bestow Iman and Islam unto us.

Salawat and greetings to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) and

his family and companion, and to all previous prophets.

FOKI is the communication forum for the academia of medical and

health faculty in Indonesia, who carries the responsibility to

implement dakwah mission in medical and health education to build a

professional generation in the field who upholds Islamic values. FOKI

supports the 1st International Islamic Healthcare Conference and Expo

(IHEX) conducted by MUKISI.

The quality of Islamic healthcare services are strongly supported by the efforts of educating

the healthcare provider with the basic principles of Islamic healthcare. The collaboration

between FOKI and MUKISI in this event is an excellent example of a comprehensive

cooperation between healthcare education institution and healthcare service provider.

It is our hope that the 1st IHEX be the kick start of future massive efforts in educating

medical and healthcare professionals who internalized the basic principles of Islamic

healthcare services which in turn creates a healthy and just society.

Last but not least, we would like to congratulate the upcoming 1st International Islamic

Healthcare Conference and Expo. The collaboration between FOKI and MUKISI together in

IIMA shall put all our efforts aligned in improving the quality of Islamic healthcare education

Dear Valued Members of Indonesian IMA and MUKISI,

Esteemed Congress Participants,

Welcome to the 1st International Islamic Healthcare Conference and

Expo (IHEX) organized by MUKISI and IIMA. I warmly salute you

all on behalf of FIMA (Federation of Islamic Medical Associations).

FIMA is a registered body of 50 IMAs from 45 countries which are

either full or associate members representing about 50,000 Muslim

medical and health professionals worldwide. It is a not-for-profit, non-political and non-

governmental organization.

FIMA aims to foster the unity and welfare of Muslim medical and health care professionals,

to promote Islamic medical activities including health services, education and research

through co-operation and co-ordination among member organizations, to promote the

understanding and the application of Islamic principles in the field of medicine, to mobilize

professional and economic resources in order to provide medical care and relief to affected

areas and communities, and to promote the exchange of medical information and technical

expertise among member organizations. The main FIMA projects include but are not limited

to CIMCO (Consortium of Islamic Medical Colleges), IHC (Islamic Hospital Consortium),

FIMA Relief, FIMA Save-Vision, FIMA Save-Smile, FIMA Save-Dignity, FIMA Students

Chapter, International Student Camps, Scientific Conventions, FIMA Year Books, HIV-

AIDS resource center, our recently launched peer-reviewed online scientific journal, namely,

“International Journal of Human and Health Sciences”, and many others.

Serving as a flagship for FIMA, FIMA Relief is dedicated to saving lives and relieving

suffering through disaster relief, development programs and knowledge transfer. It provides a

great platform to physicians and allied healthcare professionals. We collaborate with other

relief organizations to facilitate their medical relief needs. So far, FIMA Relief missions have

provided timely and effective aid for the needy worldwide. Thanks to its huge manpower of

about 50,000 Muslim medical and health professionals, FIMA is always ready to extend a

helping hand to all who are in dire need and to further enlarge its relief activities in troubled

areas worldwide in cooperation and collaboration with volunteer NGOs and relief

organizations.

On the other hand, in addition to its vast capacity and potential, Indonesian IMA is one of the

most active and productive members of FIMA, thanks to its immense experience with

hundreds of Islamic medical institutions and hospitals. Not only did it host FIMA Council

Meeting and Scientific Conference four times in Indonesia, it has also been represented in the

FIMA Executive Committee for a long time and most importantly, it is successfully holding


the presidency of CIMCO. I thank all my Indonesian sisters and brothers who have always

supported FIMA with their activities.

The IHEX to be organized in Jakarta in April 2018 by IIMA and MUKISI is a significant

event with various meetings, seminars, workshops, and exhibitions under the main theme

“Establish Shariah Hospital in the Region Through Consolidation of Potentials of the

Ummah” that could serve as a good example for the entire Muslim world. On behalf of FIMA

ExCo, I congratulate all my brothers and sisters who have contributed to the organization of

this important meeting. My heartfelt thanks especially go to Indonesian IMA and MUKISI.

Seminar participants. International seminar will be held on Tuesday until

Participants will receive seminar materials and kit, lunch and snacks for 3 days. We

shall provide translation facilities to those who need them.

Presenter for Free Paper Session. The session will be held on the second day;

Wednesday 11th April 2018. The Scientific Committee will hold the privilege to

determine the presentation upon receiving the abstracts, for oral or poster

presentation. All poster and oral presentation should be in English. Selected

abstracts shall be given discounted rate to attend the Seminar only.

Workshop Participants. The workshop is held in parallel on the second day on

Wednesday, 11th April 2018. Workshop participants can only attend the workshop

The abstract will not be published, unless the registration fee of the registered author is received before 9th March 2018.
