ICoSHR invites the submission of scientific abstracts that have not been previously published in an archival scientific publication or presented elsewhere at a national or international conference. Guidelines for Abstract Submission: 1. Abstract should be submitted via conference

website. 2. Abstract should be written in English,

maximum 250 words, with at least 5 keywords, indicating author’s preference for verbal or poster presentation.

3. Contact details of all authors should be provided and formatted as follows: Last Name, First Name, Institution, City, Country, and Email Address.

4. Abstract should be structured as follows: Introduction, Purpose, Methods, Results, and Implication.

5. Deadline of abstract submission: February 15th, 2018. The acceptance will be announced one week via email.

6. Journal. Following writing workshop will be notified later via email.

Quality of life is a broad multidimensional concept that includes evaluation of aspects of life. Health is one important domain in quality of life that affects physical and mental health. Considering the importance of health and sports to improve the quality of life, Faculty of Sports Science, Universitas Negeri Padang, in collaboration with The Ohio State University, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Republic Polytechnic Singapore would like to welcome you to join our International Conference on Sports Science, Health and Recreation (ICoSHR) 2018. The theme for this year is “The role and contribution of sports and health science in enhancing a better quality of life”. This conference focuses on changes, globalization and development in sports science, health and recreation and its effects on all levels of sports participation in pursuit of life quality.

OBJECTIVE

DATE & VENUE This conference will take place in Auditorium of Universitas Negeri Padang, Padang, West Sumatera, Indonesia for two days, March 14 – 15, 2018, at 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM each day.

PROGRAM ICoSHR will include keynote address, plenary and parallel sessions, and poster presentation, that cover these areas: sports pedagogy, physical education, sports recreation, high performance sports, exercise physiology, biochemistry of exercise, sports biomechanics, sports industry, sports management, physical activity, and public health. Plenary Session Invited speakers will give their presentation followed by Q & A session. Parallel Session Accepted articles will be presented verbally in parallel sessions. Presenter will have 10 minutes to present and 5 minutes remaining for Q & A. Poster Presentations Authors of accepted articles should prepare a poster with maximum size: 59.4 x 84.1 cm (A1). Authors/s must be present for Q & A.

GETTING TO KNOW UNP & WEST SUMATERA

International presenters and participants are invited to join a cultural trip to Bukittinggi and Pagaruyung to get to know Minangkabau culture and Traditional Food, a day before the conference. Some places that will be visited include Palace of Pagaruyung, Kelok 9 and Rendang tasting session–a delicacy of Padang. Padang is also well known for its surrounding islands. With white sandy beaches and beautiful waves, Mentawai and Sikuai islands beckons surfers from all over the world. Participants are welcome to stay a while longer and visit these islands.
