Introduction

OverviewThese Intel Cluster Ready trademark and logo usage guidelines are designed for original

equipment manufacturers (OEM), Independent Software Vendors (ISV), Platform Integrators

(PI), and Component Vendors (CV) who have entered into a trademark license with Intel for

the use of the Intel Cluster Ready logo with certified hardware cluster solutions, registered

software solutions or certified components.

The Intel Cluster Ready mark and text signify the compliance of the cluster solution with

the Intel Cluster Ready specification and passing the tests of the Intel Cluster Checker.

Once the solution has completed and passed the tests, the solution is deemed to be Intel

Cluster Ready. The Intel Cluster Ready mark represents to the buyer of the cluster

compatibility, reliability, quality, of the components in that cluster.

Proper Target AudiencesThe Intel Cluster Ready mark and text should only be used by OEMS, ISVs, PIs, and CVs that

are licensed to use the Intel Cluster Ready mark on certified cluster solutions.

BackgroundsWhenever possible, place the Intel Cluster Ready logo on a clean, clear, solid background.

Note, when the logo is used on a colored photographic or patterned background, there must

be significant contrast.

Always maintain a clear space around the texttreatment. Clear space should be the height of the n in

requirements have also been established.

Co-Marketing ScenariosThe Intel Cluster Ready logo may appear with a maximum of two other logos per device,

screen or marketing communications vehicle. The Intel Cluster Ready logo should be

proportionate to other logos and text treatments it appears beside. Additionally, the Intel

Cluster Ready should be sized so that the word Cluster Ready is clearly legible and it meets

minimum sizing requirements on page 4.

Sizing Relationships for Marketing Collateral

As a general rule, match the height of Intel within the logo with the height of other text

logos. Exceptions to this rule may be made for OEM or PIs whose logos are symbols or very

short wordmarks. In those cases, the proportions of the OEM or PI must be a percentage of

the Intel Cluster Ready logo.

Incorrect UsageThe following are examples of incorrect expressions of the IntelCluster Ready logo. Do

not use these or other treatments that weaken the consistency of the brand identity.

The current blue color for the Intel Cluster Ready logo is Intel Blue. Only standard process

color inks may be used (never metallic inks).

Do notredraw or modify the logo in any way. Leave existing trademark symbols intact. Use

artwork exactly as provided.

Usage on DevicesIn addition to the color and sizing of the Intel Cluster Ready logo, placement guidelines

have also been established to ensure consistency and impact for the Intel Cluster Ready

brand. On silver devices, whenever possible use the Intel blue logo. On black, dark gray or

dark blue devices, whenever possible use silver or an etched logo.

ServersThe Intel Cluster Ready logo may appear on the left in the largest free area on the front of

the device. The logo may appear centered below OEM logo on the back of the device and

maintain the same equal visual proportions.

Usage on Print AdvertisingThe Intel Cluster Ready logo should be proportionate to other logos and text treatments

on the page. The logo must not be used in conjunction with Intel competitors logos. It

should be placed away from the other logos so as to not confuse it with OEM or Reseller

provider.

Reproduction SpecificationsThe Intel Cluster Ready logo print files have been created in vector format using Adobe

Illustrator* 8.

The print files are exported EPS files. You can use them as placed graphics in most page

layout and illustration software. In order to maintain a consistent impression of the logo,

certain aspects of it have been optimized at each size. If you need to scale beyond that,

use the next largest logo size provided.

Requirements for all Animated

Logos

These standards outline the proper use of the Intel Signature ID in all programaudio/video ads. When a unique Intel Signature ID for a brand exists, it must be used topromote the qualifying brand being advertised. For example, the unique Intel SignatureID for the Intel Centrino brand must be used to promote Intel Centrino brand-basedQualifying Licensee Products (QLP).

There are audio/visual versions of the Signature ID available for television, digitalvideo screens (DVS), cinema, and in-flight ads. There are audio-only versionsavailable for radio ads. All are three (3) seconds in duration.

The signature ID must be incorporated into the advertisement within the appropriatecontext and in association with the Intel brand in the most prominently featuredQLP.

Signature IDs cannot have visual or audio overlay, except for Japanese TV ads.

The sound level of the Intel sound mark must equal the sound level of the balanceof the advertisement.

The sound mark should not be altered in any way

There must be no on-camera distractions (e.g., on-screen motion or cameramovement) while the Signature ID is displayed.

If there is an OEM or carrier corporate ID logo or a corporate ID extension logo in theaudio/visual ads, it must not appear on screen at the same time as the Signature ID.

Placement on the system monitor is also acceptable if it meets all otherrequirements.

Intel audio Signature ID in radio ads must be placed immediately preceding orfollowing the Intel brand mention.

There are two available sizes for the Intel Signature IDs (100% of the title-safe area)and a partial Signature ID (20% of the title-safe area).

A production-quality format of the Signature ID is available and must be incorporated asprovided. No alterations of duration, melody, or instrumentation of the Signature ID areallowed.

Trademark UsageProper acknowledgement of Intels trademarks is required. Whenever the logo appears, theappropriate acknowledgement line must also appear as a footnote:

When using the Intel Cluster Ready logo only: Intel, Intel Cluster Ready and the IntelCluster Ready logo are trademarks of Intel Corporation in the U.S. and othercountries."

When using the Intel Cluster Ready logo and Intel Cluster Ready word mark: " Intel,Intel Cluster Ready and the Intel Cluster Ready logo are trademarks of IntelCorporation in the U.S. and other countries."

When using the Intel Cluster Ready word mark only: "Intel and Intel Cluster Ready aretrademarks of Intel Corporation in the U.S. and other countries."

When using the Intel Cluster Ready logo and Intel sound mark: Intel, Intel ClusterReady, Intel Cluster Ready logo, and Intel sound mark are trademarks of IntelCorporation in the U.S. and other countries.

Proper trademark usage rules include:

As with all other trademarks, the Intel Cluster Ready trademark should be used asan adjective and not as a noun. This means that an appropriate and approved nounmust accompany the trademark. The approved nouns for the Intel Cluster Readytrademark are brand, logo, mark, name, symbol and trademark.

The noun that accompanies the trademark should be in lower case ( e.g., IntelCluster Ready logo), unless it is used in a heading or on packaging.

The appropriate use of trademark symbols with this trademark is as follows: IntelCluster Ready trademark.

Use the trademark symbol in the first appearance of the trademark in a headline,and/or the first prominent use and first appearance in the body of text.

Never hyphenate or abbreviate the Intel Cluster Ready trademark.

Never incorporate the Intel Cluster Ready trademark or any part of the IntelCluster Ready trademark into a third party's company name, product brand name ormodel number.

Never translate the Intel Cluster Ready trademark or the element CLUSTERREADY.

It is an Intel legal mandate to include the Intel mark because this is a unitarytrademark with Intel as an integral part of the whole trademark; thus, Intel mustalways be used in the mark (e.g., the entire trademark is Intel Cluster Ready).Cluster Ready should never be used alone.
