ELEVATION= 1318.25. BM 3 - NORTHWEST BOLT ON LAMP POST, EAST SIDE LESTER STREET, APPROX. 275 FEET NORTH OF COBB STREET. ELEVATION= 1332.18.

4. COORDINATE SYSTIEM USED TO ESTABLISH HORIZONTAL CONTROL FOR THIS

PROJECT ARE BASED ON MICHIGAN STATE PLANE COORDINATES, NAD63 CENTRAL ZONE, INTERNATIONAL FEET. THE COORDINATES SHOWN ON THE PLANS ARE BASED ON THIS SYSTIEM. TO CONVERT THE COORDINATES SHOWN ON THESE PLANS TO STATE PLANE COORDINATES, ADD 300,000 TO NORTHING COORDINATES AND 19,400,000 TO EASTING COORDINATES.

3. ALL LOCATIONS OF TEMPORARY SOIL EROSION AND WATER POLLUTION CONTROL

DEVICES SHALL BE SUBJECT TO ADJUSTMENT AS REQUIRED TO SUIT SPECIFIC SITE NEEDS OR AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE LOCAL GOVERNING AUTHORITIES.

4. WHEN THE TEMPORARY SOIL EROSION AND WATER POLLUTION CONTROL DEVICES ARE

NO LONGER REQUIRED FOR THE INTENDED PURPOSE, IN THE OPINION OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES, THEY SHALL BE REMOVED.

5. TOPSOIL IS TO BE STRIPPED FROM ALL CUT AND FILL AREAS, STOCKPILED AND

REPLACED IN ANY NON-PAVED AREAS TO A DEPTH OF 6" UPON COMPLETION OF GRADING AND PAVING. INSTALL A SILT FENCE OR SAND BAGS AROUND BASE OF STOCKPILES TO PREVENT SOIL WASHING INTO THE STORM SEWER SYSTEM.

6. SILT FENCES AND/OR INLET FILTERS ARE TO BE REPLACED AS EFFECTIVENESS IS

SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED. SILT FENCES AND/OR INLET FILTERS ARE TO BE REMOVED BY THE CONTRACTOR WHEN SURFACES HAVE BEEN STABILIZED BY PERMANENT VEGETATION.

7. ALL REQUIRED SEDIMENTATION/EROSION CONTROL FACILITIES MUST BE

CONSTRUCTED AND IN OPERATION PRIOR TO LAND CLEARING AND/OR OTHER CONSTRUCTION TO ENSURE THAT SEDIMENT LADEN WATER DOES NOT ENTER THE NATURAL DRAINAGE SYSTEM. ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT FACILITIES SHALL BE MAINTAINED IN A SATISFACTORY CONDITION UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT CLEARING AND/OR CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED AND POTENTIAL FOR ON-SITE EROSION HAS BEEN STABILIZED. DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION, IT SHALL BE THE OBLIGATION AND RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PERMITTEE TO ADDRESS ANY NEW CONDITIONS THAT MAY BE CREATED IN HIS ACTIVITIES AND TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FACILITIES OVER AND ABOVE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, AS MAY BE NEEDED TO PROTECT ADJACENT PROPERTIES AND WATER QUALITY OF THE RECEIVING DRAINAGE SYSTEM.

8. IN THE EVENT OF FAILURE OF THE TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION

CONTROL FACILITIES, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUSPEND ALL WORK UNTIL ADDITIONAL MEANS OF EROSION CONTROL CAN BE IMPLEMENTED.

9. REMOVE WASTE MATERIALS, INCLUDING UNACCEPTABLE EXCAVATED MATERIAL,

TRASH, AND DEBRIS, AND DISPOSE OF IT LEGALLY OFF OWNER'S PROPERTY.

1. FOOTINGS SHALL BE CARRIED DOWN TO UNDISTURBED SOIL HAVING A MINIMUM NET ALLOWABLE

BEARING CAPACITY OF 2000 POUNDS PER SQUARE FOOT.

2. DURING WINTER CONSTRUCTION, PROVIDE FROST PROTECTION FOR FOOTING AND AREA WITHIN 3 FEET OF THE FOOTING PERIMETER. PROTECT FOOTINGS IN ORDER TO PREVENT FREEZING AND HEAVING OF THE BEARING STRATUM.

3. FINISHED EXCAVATIONS AND BEARING GRADES SHALL BE INSPECTED AND APPROVED BEFORE ANY

CONCRETE IS PLACED.

4. THE EXPOSED SUBGRADE SOILS ARE SENSITIVE TO DISTURBANCE. CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC OVER EXPOSED FOUNDATION SUBGRADES SHALL BE AVOIDED.

5. BACKFILL AGAINST FOUNDATION WALLS AND GRADE BEAMS: A. DO NOT PLACE BACKFILL UNTIL MASONRY STRENGTH HAS ATTAINED 80% OF ITS 28 DAY

STRENGTH. B. DO NOT BACKFILL BASEMENT WALLS UNTIL SLAB-ON-GRADE AND SUPPORTED SLAB ARE IN

PLACE AND HAVE ATTAINED 80% OF THE 28 DAY STRENGTH. C. PROVIDE BRACING FOR ALL FOUNDATION WALLS SUSTAINING MORE THAN 2 FEET OF

UNBALANCED EARTH PRESSURE. THIS BRACING IS TO REMAIN UNTIL THE PERMANENT RESTRAINTS BECOME EFFECTIVE.

6. CONCRETE FOR FOOTINGS AND GRADE BEAMS MAY BE PLACED AT CONTRACTOR'S OPTION INTO

UNFORMED TRENCHES. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO MINIMIZE SLOUGHING OF SIDEWALLS. WHERE SLOUGHING OCCURS, REMOVE SLOUGHED SOIL AND/OR OVER EXCAVATE. CUT TRENCH FOOTING SIDES IN VERTICAL MANNER TO NOT ALLOW TRENCH FOOTING TO “MUSHROOM OUT” NEAR THE TOP.

4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAND DIG, IF NECESSARY, ONLY AFTER SUCH SUCCESSFUL

NOTIFICATIONS, AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY AND/OR THE UTILITY OWNER TO DETERMINE THE EXACT LOCATION OF THE UNDERGROUND UTILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DAMAGES TO EXISTING UTILITIES.

1. CONCRETE IS NORMAL WEIGHT AND SHALL DEVELOP A MINIMUM COMPRESSIVE

STRENGTH OF 2500 PSI AT 28 DAYS.

2. CONCRETE BAR REINFORCEMENT SHALL BE NEW BILLET STEEL CONFORMING TO ASTM A615 (60,000 PSI YIELD). WELDED WIRE FABRIC SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM A185, AND SHALL BE FURNISHED AND PLACED IN FLAT SHEETS. ALL ASTM STANDARDS SHALL BE LATEST EDITION.

3. GRADE BEAMS AND SLABS SHALL BE PLACED MONOLITHICALLY EXCEPT WHERE

OTHERWISE SHOWN. NO HORIZONTAL CONSTRUCTION JOINTS ARE TO BE MADE IN SLABS OR BEAMS, UNLESS SHOWN OR OTHERWISE NOTED.
