Installing Salesforce Mobile on your iPhone I recommend being on Wi-Fi to install the application, log in to Salesforce, and to synchronize your data On your phone, open the App Store
Click the Search icon to search for Salesforce Mobile
Type salesforce mobile in the search box and click the Install button for the Salesforce Mobile app
When prompted, enter your Apple ID Password
After the app is installed, open it
Click I Accept to accept the license agreement
Enter your Salesforce login/password and click Activate
After Activating, it will synchronize your data - DO NOT LEAVE THIS SCREEN while it is performing this operation
After it synchronizes for the first time, you will need to enter a PIN to access Salesforce mobile, this is different than your Salesforce password. I recommend using a PIN similar to the one you have to unlock your phone (however it only requires 5 digits - mine phone uses 6, so I just use the first 5 of that same PIN for ease of remembering)
After creating your PIN, you will be logged in and can take the training. I am including some tips here, but I recommend you review the short training. If you skip the training you can always go back to take it by clicking on the ... More button in the lower right
I don't synchronize my Contacts from Salesforce to Outlook and instead use Salesforce Mobile to access Contacts, etc. When I click on Contacts button I don't see the Contact I'm looking for
When I type in that Contact name I want, I click Continue to search on server
When I find the person I want, I click on them to open that record. From there I can click on their Phone to call them or their Email to email them. At the bottom of the screen you will see the Related items to that Contact
I clicked on the Phone to call this person, then after I hung up, it automatically asks if I want to Log Call (record an activity against this person)
If I want to record an activity against this Contact (e.g. the Contact called me, I visited this person while on another sales call at the facility), go to the bottom of the Contact page and click Tasks/To Dos or Calendar Events (depending on how you log your activities)
Click the New button
Fill out the appropriate information and click Save
On the ... More button you can see the other items you can access
