These instructions consist of Installation, Servicing and Fault Finding. The instructions are an integral part of the product and must, to comply with the

current issue of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations, be handed to the user on completion of

the installation.

Safety instructions and regulationsThis Climapro is tested and certificated for safety and performance.

IMPORTANT: NO alteration should made to the Climapro, without permission, in writing, from Glow-worm.

Any alteration not approved by Glow-worm, could invalidate the certification, product warranty and may also infringe the current issue of the statutory requirements.

WARNING: Incorrect installation can cause electric shock or damage to the Climapro. Protect all the electrical components from water when you carry out any work. RegulationsWhen installing and commissioning the control, the regulations below shall be observed in their current version. The electrical installation must be installed by a competent person and in accordance with the relevant standards.All wiring to current I.E.E. wiring regulations. In GB, this is BS 7671. In IE, this is the current edition of ETCI rules.Where no specific instructions are given, reference should be made to the relevant British Standard Code of Practice and part P Building Regulations.Where no British Standard exists, materials and equipment should be fit for their purpose and of suitable quality and workmanship.The installation of this product must be carried out by a competent person in accordance with the rules in force in the countries of destination. Manufacturer’s instructions must not be taken as overriding statutory requirements.

ApplicationThe Climapro is a programmable room thermostat, that, in combination with our Glow-worm Ultracom, Ultrapower and Flexicom range of boilers will control heating and hot water requirements.This control improves the energy efficiency of the heating system.

DocumentsPlease keep this manual and any other documents enclosed, safe for future reference.We accept no liability in case of damage due to the non-compliance of the instructions.Any other use is considered as inappropriate and is forbidden.The manufacturer shall not be responsible for any damage caused by another use. In that case the user shall be responsible.

CleaningDO NOT use any abrasive cleaning products as they could damage the housing or plastic case.Clean the case of the Climapro with damp cloth.Make sure that no water goes inside the Climapro.

RecyclingThe Climapro comprises of many recyclable parts and should be disposed of according to the current WEEE regulations.The packaging should also disposed of according to the current regulations.

Install the Climapro in such a manner so as to guarantee optimum measurement of the ambient temperature by positioning it on the inside wall of a main room, approximately at 1.5 metres from the ground.

DO NOT install the Climapro: 1. above another appliance that could damage it (for example, above a cooker that might emit steam or grease) or in a room, which has a lot of dust in the atmosphere which is corrosive. 2. near heat sources such as radiators, televisions, sunlight, etc. 3. On cold walls, between furniture, behind curtains, or other objects that could effect measurement of ambient air temperature in the room. Close to draughts of air that could come from doors or windows.Explain these requirements to the home owner.

Remove the front cover with the aid of a screwdriver as shown in diagram 6.

Having chosen the location, reference the previous section.

Fit the back box to the wall, using fasteners suitable for the site conditions, refer to diagram 7.

WARNING: Isolate the boiler from the electrical supply. A competent person should make the electrical connections.

IMPORTANT: Where eBUS cables run in parallel with 230V cables over a length of 10 metre, they must be separated by at least 25mm.

With reference to the boiler installation literature, remove the electrical cartridge from the fittings pack.

Using a suitable cable that complies with the specifications given in the Technical data section, connect the Climapro and electrical cartridge as shown in diagram 8.

NOTE: Polarity is not important.

Secure the cartridge cover, then insert the cartidge into its housing, secure with the 2 retaining screws, see diagram 9.

Control Settings NOTE: The Ultracom and Ultrapower in-built digital programmer will automatically be disabled.

The control is factory set as shown in the table.

Should you require to change these settings:

1. Press the button for 10 seconds to access the settings menu.

2. When and “CODE 0” appear, use the or buttons until “96” is displayed.

3. Press the button to confirm.

4. The first menu to appear will be “COMF”, use the or buttons to change the values, press the button to

save and select the next menu.

5. To exit and return to the main display, press the button for 10 seconds.

If no action is performed within 1 minute, the control will return to the main display.

If necessary you can restore the factory settings. With the main display active, press and hold the button for 20 seconds until the full display refreshes twice.

Completion

Once the Climapro is configured. Set the 24hr. clock time and date, then the heating and hot water requirements, as described in the User instructions. Check with the User that the settings suit their requirements.With reference to the boiler instruction, complete the commissioning procedure.

User informationExplain and demonstrate to the User the operation of the Climapro, refer to the separate instructions supplied. Advise the User to keep the operating instructions and any other documents supplied in a safe place for future use.To aid the User in operating the controller a “Quick Reference Guide” is supplied.Explain in detail the safety principles they should observe.
