the status of Hoplopleurapacifica which for man y years was considered a syn­onym of H. oenomydis Ferris. The hosts in Micronesia are Rattus exulans, R.

norvegicus, and R. rattus.

Thi s species is not listed by Ferri s (op . cit.) who overlooked the record byMarshall (1955, J. Mammal. 36 (2) : 259-263) from the Ma rshall Islands. Thisrecord and a later one from Ponape (Jack son, in Storer, 1962, B. P. BishopMus. Bull. 225 : 191) ar e included in the tabl e on distribut ion.
